How close are you to Frostbite Falls? I have no idea where that is. Damn girl, those pictures look like they could've been taken right here they are so similar. Same situation here; ground froze early last fall, locking in moisture. Now we have a record snow melting quickly due to record rainfall and the water having nowhere to go but across land. The sandbagging is in full effect here, there are convoys of sandbags getting police escorts, there is overland flooding, parts of interstates and highways shut down due to water flowing across them, towns without water, evacuations taking place (detroit lakes mn.), refugees are staying at the grade and middle schools in my neighbourhood, there have been numerous accidents (car crashes, slipping on ice, exhaustion from sandbagging etc) with at least one death and the lights were just flickering here a little bit ago. And tonight a snowstorm blew in from the west so you should be feeling the bite of the dropping temps anytime now as you are just east of me. Shit dude! I was wondering how close your house is to any of that or the sandbagging. You had more snow than us too. I'm so fucking sick of this shitty weather!!! I just hope this doesn't drastically lengthen the time it takes to reconstruct the Hwy 23 bridge across the Mississippi into St. Cloud. I hate having to take the detour (even though it's a simple detour), and I really hope that that bridge doesn't suffer any damage from the flooding. Also, I don't look forward to the snow coming my way, as I have to go to St. Cloud to get a refill on meds tomorrow. I don't know; if it does it maybe won't be too much longer. Hey, I forgot you live near here; we should hang out some time. And starbrewer too, since he lives over here too.

Holy living fuck, that looks bad. Nothing like that's even happened here (although I am a few blocks from a decent stream). Stay safe, and I really hope that's the worst of it.

Hey, I forgot you live near here; we should hang out some time. And starbrewer too, since he lives over here too. I gotta head back to St. Cloud in 1 1/2 - 2 weeks as normal for more groceries and such ( much cheaper to drive to and buy from Sam's Club than the grocery store where I live), so it'd be easy to arrange a time and place to meet up. ^_^

Mini-blizzard today. Streets clogged with snow again and it took me ten minutes to get out of my parking space. It went from heavy rain to freezing so under the now it's all ice. I had to park on the back side of the building in a spot where someones car blocked the snow when it fell. so hopefully I can leave in the morning without rocking the damn thing and spinning the tires.
Anybody got any nice weather you're not using?

Got a shit ton more pics this morning; soon as I get them resized I'll post them. The good news is, my building is no closer to being flooded than it was the other day.

news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090326/ap_on_re_us/midwest_floodingI'm in the only hospital that hasn't been evacuated/closed, they just raised the estimated crest of our Red River TWO FEET to 43 which is supposed to be Saturday AND an all time record and it's only 16 degrees outside with a 20 mph north wind. I... w-win? no... that doesn't seem right... that doesn't seem right at all.

Holy Shit.
We just sent a new Rep out to Winnipeg, he's never been away from the West Coast and never lived away from Mommy and Daddy before.
I hope he didn't rent a basement suite :\
