So apparently, when not causing awkward holiday situations by taking issue with his openly gay brother, my cousin writes an obnoxiously Catholic blog going on and on about the evils of birth control, homosexuality and other fun things. As a bisexual with no desire of birthing children ever, he's really grating my last nerve. I've bandied about the idea of debating him, but there's no point really - he thinks sex is a God-given gift for married people, I think it's a natural drive regardless of your marital status. Here's a link. I'm not sure any of it is quotable, but there might be a worthwhile trolling opportunity. Failing that, I can at least get some confirmation that I'm not crazy for being pissed. youngevangelicalandcatholic.blogspot.com/

I've always liked the observation that sex is loathsome, disgusting and evil, and you should save it for the one you love.

My uncle once told me I was a heathen, filthy homosexual he didn't want around his kids, but he still loved me.

But the first thing on the page starts so well...
Seriously, though, this is rather typical stuff with no real creativity put into it. He may be being stupid, but at least he's being articulate about it. It's better than most of what we see.

There are hills in Canada? I thought it was just a flat glacier.
[For those of you without a sense of humor, that was a joke.]

I don't want to go to Canadia. They have polar bears. And icicles spontaneously generate around you to stab you.

My uncle once told me I was a heathen, filthy homosexual he didn't want around his kids, but he still loved me. With love like that, who needs hate? Yeah, my usual response to that sort of thing is "I think you're doing it wrong." It's kind of like when you come across the violent Muslim extremists who still claim theirs is a religion of peace. While it's true of others who worship Allah, strapping a bomb to your ass and blowing up innocent people does not qualify as peace by any thinking definition. Similarly, "You're a filthy queer and I don't want you exposing your lifestyle to my kids" is not a message of love. Yeah, I know it's a little less dramatic than the above suicide bombing comparison, but I'm in the mood for hyperbole. Same idea...Just cranked up to 11.

You think you have it bad? my Neo-Pagan friend's mother recently converted to being a Jehova's Witness, and now keeps trying to get her to join as well. Poor lass.
