What the fuck does it mean to be more complicated genetically? Might be related to this. Kent Hovind once argued, not entirely seriously, that the greater the number of chromosomes, the more complicated an organism is, therefore we are evolving into ferns. Now, if an argument against evolution is so stupid that not even Kent fucking Hovind could make it with a straight face....

That's probably what he was talking about. But my uncle took it seriously, I guess.
I heard this in nursing school today, "Once Obama gets this bill passed and healthcare is free, how will we be paid?"

Ask teachers, they provide free education to children.

One of my friends recently reminded me of something one of my parents said when I came out to them that I was an Atheist.
"I don't trust the Atheists. They all practice black magic"

It's not there to begin with. (Sounded much cooler in my head, but you get what I mean)

I was involved in a bit of a theological debate when my opponant asked me about the people (including himself) who claim to hear God/Jesus/whatever. I tried to explain how such an effect might come about, the whole internal dialogue thing, the mind wanting guidance so badly it creates it and so on, and followed it by asking what he thought of people who believe Jesus/God/Whatever ordered them to kill people, citing the Yorkshire Ripper as an example. He followed this with a dead serious assertion that (paraphrased) 'who are you to say the women that Jesus told him to kill wouldn;t have been the next Hitler(s)'. At that point, I just gave up x.x.
