In the fridge now is an assorted case of beers by Victory, but my favorite beer is Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA. If I'm drinking wine, it needs to be red, and I prefer syrah/shiraz.

I prefer a combination of sobriety and condescending holier-than-thou superiority.

My personal favorite in wine is red muscadine. One of the only good things about living where I do is that we have a local (in-state) winery that makes the stuff, so we can get it fairly cheap.

Best ale I've found is Shepard Neame Spitfire. After that it's a toss up between pretty much everything Black Sheep Brewery does and Guinness or Lancaster Bomber.

Kentucky Bourbon preferably Jack Daniels or Jim Beam.
Or scotch preferably Johnny Walker.

Guinness Export: It's Guinness, but *moar*. You do need to be a little careful with it, though, as it packs a fair bit more poke than you'd reasonably expect.
Really, though, any half decent dark beer or stout has me at hello. /presently sipping a pint bottle of Whitewater Belfast Black.

Why is is that Smithwicks tastes awesome on tap, but like garbage when bottled?

I do not know. It could be a gas thing. Most places I've worked pump Smithwicks with nitrogen, like they do Guinness, which is more "neutral" in taste than the CO2 used for lagers etc. as well as producing smaller "bubbles", lending smoothness. The CO2 used in bottles and cans could well explain the rank, sharp, paracetamol/hairspray undercurrent.

Taylors Cabernet Sauvignon, The Black Stuff (Guinness), Coopers Sparkling Ale or Jameson's.
I also have an inexplicable weakness for chocolate stout.

The only beer I've ever had was Budweiser, and it was foul. But people have told me that not all beer is disgusting.
Personally, I like pinot noir, and peach schnapps.

Which Budweiser was it? The American one DOES NOT count. The true Budweiser is from the Czech Republic.
And to quote Big Bang Theory "Hey. Schnapps."

Budweiser? More like Pisswasser. You'd probably get more bang for your buck if you just drank some 10W30.
