I was born with a penis, and never flinched in protectiveness of it. But then, I do plan on having it "split" and inverted later, and don't consider myself a guy. So no, not flinching sadly doesn't prove one doesn't have one. Yes, but you're special. Most of us cringe at that sort of thing.

... sometimes wish it would just go away. =< Doctors can make that happen, of which I'm damn glad of. I might take a kitchen knife to my crotch if they couldn't (and the thought still enters my head from time to time...).

Yeah, but like most things, that usually costs money... 13,000+ USD last I knew. I'll admit I've not really looked at the pricing much in the last year. It also depends on if you go to a surgeon in the States or if you go to Thailand or similar.

Going to Thailand seems a little risky... I wasn't born with one.. nor do I want one of my own, believe me there are enough of them running around this town I live in.. but that's a discussion for another time. BUT.. I would think that going to third-world-ish type countries to have such a delicate procedure done would be.. well... ill-advised.

Thailand isn't third world last time I checked. They're kind of famous for that sort of surgery.

Dropping one or more zeros would fit into my price range better. =\
Not that I'm actually all that serious about it, though. It's just one of those wishes, like having superpowers.

Thailand isn't third world last time I checked. Hence the "ish". They're kind of famous for that sort of surgery. I did not know that. Learn something new every day.

For vaginoplasty though Thailand has some of the best surgeons. They really are top notch, as long as you go to one of the big hospitals. I could search up some of the names of good surgeons for it there, but unless that's requested I won't. One problem with getting it done in the US is that the surgeons require you have signed letters from two psychologists recommending it, and the current Standards Of Care for that is at least a year seeing them on a monthly basis (if not more frequently) and living as your target gender. Some don't start that year count until after hormone replacement therapy and/or facial hair removal is complete, some start it much earlier. This then adds onto the cost for getting it done in the US, though there is the higher cost of transportation and housing (hotels and the like) for going to Thailand for it.

Have you gotten your name/birth certificate/driver's license/etc changed yet? I know some states won't let you do it until you've had the surgery, and some won't let you do it at all.

I'm actually trying to see if I can get some friends to witness for my name change, where I also -might- be able to get my gender legally changed, and have it court ordered to amend my birth records to show it. (This is done by adding "I also petition the Court to order the Department of Health to amend my birth records by changing my sex designation from 'Male' to 'Female," to the name change application.) Part of it depends on how you approach it, and yes, which state you live in. Luckily I can get it changed without having to go through the surgery first, but if the gender doesn't get changed at the same time as my name then I'll likely have to have a signed certificate form the surgeon who performs SRS and go through the Department of Health.
And yes, some states don't even let you change your birth certificate for any reason at all, even if there was a blatant error on them. Luckily Minnesota, where I live, has provisions not only for changing it, but if it's done through a court order it cannot be disclosed except through another court order.
(If if turns out that not even one friend (that I trust and am asking) can do it, I might start asking around for those from FSTDT in the area, as they just have to be 18+ and vouch for my identity.)

Hey, I'd be more than happy to hop a train over and help out! I'm going to have to do similar stuff for my girlfriend at some point, so you know I wouldn't have an issue with it. ^-^

Split penises? How'd I miss that? Just lucky, I guess. I do remember some guy (Big Chicken Dinner, I think he called himself) who started out just posting off-topic pictures of Urkel, and descended to "golden showers" porn. He hasn't been around for a while, thank God ...
