Perhaps He just wants us to apply our effort and subdue evil by ourselves? Wouldn't want to be a helicopter parent and do everything for the humans, would we? And how do you even define good without evil? The problem of evil is not valid proof of the non-existence of a benevolent God. Assuming a benevolent God exists, though, it is proof that He would have a good and rational reason for allowing evil to exist. Of course, if God is as evil as he is in the Old Testament, I would be glad to go to hell. But i strongly don't believe that he is.

The problem of evil is not valid proof of the non-existence of a benevolent God. Yes, it is, an all benevolent god anyway. If he allows evil to exist when he has the power to stop it, he may as well have done the evil himself. In fact, if god created everything, that includes evil. However you slice it, god is responsible for evil. So, can someone who commits evil acts be considered benevolent? Perhaps if you subscribe to an "ends justify the means" philosophy, which is just what "a good and rational reason for allowing evil" implies.

1) Necro. 2) Benevolent and omnipotent god. A benevolent god who cannot stop evil is consistent with the existence of evil.

This is all well & good until you consider the fact that the victim is being penalized for not having the power to stop what is happening to them.
Why would you need to have an opposite to define something?

An omnipotent god has no reason to not take care of evil himself, he would have had to create it and it is therefore his problem. By trying to force it onto humans, God is forcing needless suffering. This is a definition of evil that contradicts benevolent behavior (especially if the god in question is also omniscient).

Whence Cometh Evil “Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?” In the Bible, Job asked God questions that kind of hinted at the above quote. God's response to Job was to tell Job that he wasn't qualified to ask such questions in the first place. When Jesus was asked why innocent people are killed or murdered, He answered that the reason is not important, rather those who are still alive need to repent or "likewise perish". So, what can one conclude?

I'd conclude that after having a bet with someone that if you let them ruin someones life and kill their family rhat person will still like you and you answer your query that way you are being an almighty dick! Pun intended.
If Jesus really was the mouthpiece of God this answer is both threatening and patronising at the same time, it's basically saying "don't you worry about that, now you'd better swear loyalty to me or you're ass might get killed as well".

Yeah, sometimes people forget that Christianity is not the lovable sweet religion that some would like it to be, nor was Jesus. "Gentle Jesus, meek and mild"? Well, nice nursery rhyme, but not entirely accurate. Jesus made some pretty absolute claims and warned of consequences for rejecting them.

Eh, he actually posted something that contributes, instead one of those inane one-liners we usually get.
