Much as I hate to admit it, there is one thing I like on RR: the user lorenei's sig image. It's very well-done artistically, and while I don't see eye-to-eye with her on religion, the idea expressed is pretty nice.
And then she puzzles me with stuff like this:
when I was a teen I was too embarassed to ask my parents anything about sex and they never had any kind of talk with me either, so I learned from teen-girl magazines and educational sex programmes for teens on TV - which are probably some of the worst things I can think of now! Because they all pretty much teach kids that its ok to have sex with your bf/gf as long as you use protection
I'm sorry, but learning how to protect yourself (and newsflash: the person you marry may not be clean him/herself, and some "virgins" are, in fact, lying about it) makes more sense to me than the idea that putting a ring on someone's finger MAGICALLY renders sex ok for the first time.
In fact, that's one of the ideas that never jived with me, and made me very unpopular in high-school-level CCD. "Sex is wonderful, but only if you're married, and only if the semen ends up inside the vagina every time. Otherwise, it's HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EVIL EVIL AND YOU'RE GOING TO HELL FOR IT." I'm sorry, it just doesn't make sense. And "His ways are not our ways" doesn't suddenly cause it to make sense.
And this little gem:
...I teach my children that judging others for a personal belief, appearance or way of life is wrong.
We are to love all because Jesus does, but do you know what His love is all about?

RR is quiet lately because of how many people they have excommunicated (banned). Anyone and everyone who disagrees with anything the moderators believe on any point, from politics to conspiracy theories to theology, isn't allowed to give their opinion. I would not be surprised if they have banned 50% of their total membership over the years they have operated, most of whom are other sincere Christians who believe in the rapture. Just take one look through their list of rules to see what I mean. Not only do they ban anyone whose theology is even slightly different form theirs, but they extend that to US politics as well. You must be a 21st century neo-conservative; all other viewpoints are disallowed. They don't just ban liberals, but also traditional paleo-conservatives, libertarians, the "Ron Paul crowd", constitutionalists, middle-of-the-roaders, etc. It shouldn't be surprising why their membership is down and they have been so quiet.
With your talk of a board's rules, one would think you'd have checked Our Rules out as well. 6 months just happens to be a wee bit long than 30 days (which, as Our Rules state is our cut-off for something being a necro), so I'm gonna have to give you an Official Warning™ for it, and remind you (and everyone who sees this) to check the date of the last post, even if it's on the from page of that forum.
