I doubt I'll be getting Wakka' ultimate weapon when the time comes for all that. I fucking suck at Blitzball. With any luck I'll be able to get X-2 sometime this week.

Wakka's is one of the weapons I never get because I SUCK at Blitzball. Lulu's I hardly ever get because it's so infuriatingly impossible. The others are a little easier to get. X-2 is a bit like Charlie's Angels meets Sailor Moon. But it's different, and fun to play, and the way you play the game sort of influences the outcome. But I shan't spoil it for you. ^^

I'm playing Portal for my first time! I know how it ends, but currently it's more fun than a barrel of particularly whimsical monkeys.

The one thing about X-2 that got me the most interested in it was the Dressphere system. The idea of a character changing their class in the midst of a heated battle sounds pretty cool. Even if there is no Summoner.

Even if there is no Summoner. The dresspheres, like everything else, takes getting used to. And yes, it IS fun to change class in the middle of a battle--but there are rules, of course. I won't spoil it for you or overload you, you'll figure it all out when you get there.

The Dresspheres and the return of CTB were some of X-2's redeeming factors. Other than that, I didn't really like it.
As for the Celestial Weapons...I HATE THEM! So far, I have Auron's & Yuna's--the 2 easy ones. I used to be better at Blitzball, and I think I could possibly get Wakka's stuff--I just have to have time to put together a better team. I'm frustratingly close to winning the Butterfly Catcher minigame for Kimahri's, and I haven't even tried unlocking Rikku's yet. It doesn't sound hard, but we'll see. On the other hand, Tidus's & Lulu's seem freakin' impossible.

Favorite PC Game of all time: Planescape:Torment "What can change the nature of a man?" The best part of this RPG was not the intriguing NPC's you encountered, the setting in Sigil or the multiple possibilities to solve the various quests at hand. No, it was the story. Nothing about saving the world, rescuing the girl or taking revenge. It was all about discovering yourself and unveiling your history. And when you play a character called The Nameless One, who is immortal, but has lost his memory every time he died and that for millenia, there is much to discover. And this discovery could be the strongest possibly "Torment, so strong it could snap even the strongest cage." Oh Ravel Puzzlewell how do I miss thee and your twisted ways. Yes Coaxmetal, "THE ENTROPY HAS UNMADE THEM!" No Vhailor, mercy is not a shield used by the weak! "If there is anything I have learned in my travels across the Planes, it is that many things may change the nature of a man. Whether regret, or love, or revenge or fear - whatever you believe can change the nature of a man. I’ve seen belief move cities, make men stave off death, and turn an evil hag's heart half-circle. This entire Fortress has been constructed from belief. Belief damned a woman, whose heart clung to the hope that another loved her when he did not. Once, it made a man seek immortality and achieve it.
And it has made a posturing spirit think it is something more than a part of me."

I just picked up GTA Chinatown Wars. It's fun so far, though I only played it a little on my fiancee's DS. My Ds has crashed, and I had to sell it back. Unfortunately, the only other Ds systems that they have are light blue, gray, or pink. I wanted a black or dark red one so I preorded the DSi.
Now I have to wait until April for it. No biggie, but my fiancee will have to wait until then for our Mario Kart rematch. Last time, she slaughtered me in 3 straight races. I had her beaten in the 4th when my DS shut off on its own. Figures.
Take care,
Jay

Favorite PC Game of all time: Planescape:Torment I've been playing that off and on on GameTap. Haven't gotten very far, but it is interesting. I got a urge to replay Gladius on the original Xbox earlier this week. I've beaten it once with the female hero, but never with the male. I started the male hero a long time ago, but got distracted and never got very far. I picked up Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe on the 360 over the weekend. Arcade mode is fun, the story is interested (though I haven't played much of it), but the Kombo Challenges are a nightmare! I also started trying to get Fatailites last night. In about 20 attempts (with 2 different characters), I succeeded once. I've been playing the heck out of Fable 2. Every time I fire it up to advance to plot, I end up taking jobs, or side quests, or something. (I've got 2 of the 3 heros with 2 different PCs.) I also found to advance one of the side quests (on the DLC), I need the Expression you get at 50% Good. Since I was doing this with my Evil character, my new project is getting him from 95% Evil to 50% Good. Lots of Slave Rescue and Bounty Hunting in my future! (Although I will keep doing the Assassination Society, as well. I take my targets to the Temple of Shadows and sacrifice them. That's a riot!)

erictheblue: The main problem is that PS:T needs some time to kick in and it's possible to be overwhelmend by the sheer amount of things to do. I mean over 1 million words of written dialog have to count for something^^ PS:T is a masterpiece of story telling but lacks in graphics. And in the end it is also very dark, because you became immortal for a reason... If you want the best game play experience, create The Nameless One with 18 Wisdom and high Intelligence and Charisma. And become a mage as soon as possibly (Mebeth on the Ragpicker Square). You now can use nearly all dialog options for some fun possibilities of quest solving. Oh, and some kick-ass spells later on. For example: Mechanus Canon (Sorcerers.net has a nice only guide for the game)

Katamari: Awesome! I only have the PS2 ones, Katamari Damcy and We Love Katamari. Want to see some funny censorship? In the first game, look up the "chocolate" items in the catalogue: i15.photobucket.com/albums/a357/OriginalSayna/KatamariCensorship.jpgOh, and in the second game you can pick up "God". Interestingly, he's much smaller and less powerful than the King of All Cosmos (though you can pick him up, too!). WoW: I've been playing for nine months now and I'm totally addicted. It's so much fun! I have a level 80 night elf resto druid on the Muradin server. I leveled her balance the whole way and, sadly, have no idea how to play feral. But shooting magic's much more fun than just mauling stuff, right? =D Portal: Never played it all, but I've seen the ending. It's a brilliant and funny game. Uh... also, I sometimes play Animal Crossing.

Someone sent me a YouTube link to that "Still Alive" song in the credits. It is very amusing.

Planescape: Torment is a game that should have won some sort of literary awards, because it is just that awesome. The story and the writing were such that I consistently felt like I was playing an interactive book instead of a computer game.
As for Portal... in Christmas 2007, I had taken my computer down to my parents' house, and one of my brothers had brought up his X-Box, so we wound up racing to see who could beat the game first. It took about forty minutes. I still like to run through that game once in a while. Altered physics is fun.
Besides Starcraft 2, the game I'm most eager to get this year is Hearts of Iron 3.

Yeah, WoW is a wonderful time sink. I have been playing it from the end of 2005 until some weeks ago. Somehow it lost it's flavor along the way, at least for me. In WoW Classic my Frostmage was an unstoppable Force of destruction. Those were the days, where purple items (EPICS!!!111) were still something special and getting 1k gold for your epic riding mount meant hard work. I have an undead mage, priest and BE DK. And some storage chars ;D
I liked the undead ("We are Forsaken!"; "Dark Lady watch over you!") because of their we-against-the-world mentality. But it gets reppetive after you have leveled so many chars and only raids could advance you.
Favorite Moments: -When Bloodlord Mandokir yells his: "Ding!" when he levels up by killing 3 players, Jin'do the Hexxer replies with a "Grats!". -Lord Victor Nefarius: "Let the games begin!" -"I'm not some simple jester, I'm Nielas Aran!"
Oh, the memories: Here is the Big Pre-BC Boss Rap

Bought Final Fantasy X last week and it's fun as Hell both metaphorically and literally. Weapon and armor customization is rather bothersome as most of the equipment I get ahold of has little to no empty slots. FFX > FFX-2 Sadly, my FFX disk and my PS2 are busted so I can't beat it without getting a new one of both.
