The Dennis the Menace one would be great if the black kid weren't drawn so stereotypically. Exactly what I was thinking.

On the other hand Dennis is presented with the worst racist stereotyping society had to offer and he is oblivious to it. To him it is just another friend. The juxtaposition of what he sees vs. what racists see is what makes the cartoon. If you had a sanitized, uncontroversial, picture of an African American child it would loose a fair amount of its impact.

Yes, but that would require far greater thought and analysis than a typical newspaper comic warrants.

I'm...not sure what it is I'm seeing, but my Islamophobia-dar is going off. I get the feeling that that strip was meant to be very very offensive to Muslims.

I get that's it's supposed to be a Goofus and Gallant sort of thing, but... with Muslims and Bible quotes?

Considering that the name of god appears to be in Hebrew, I'd assume they're supposed to be Jews, but then they have a copy of the Bible on the table and are wearing turbans, so I don't know what to think.

I would be guessing the Polley's but the drawing is much too good for them.

Is it just me or does the boy have devil horns?...

It does look like he has horns. It's also the same picture for all three panels, just zoomed and repositioned slightly different.

Well, I looked up "fisting kits" on Google. That was an interesting lesson in fundie conflation and hype.

What the hell is a fisting kit? A box of latex gloves and a tube of KY jelly?
