Ancient astronomy, really.
Does this prove that there is no God? I don't know.
Does this prove that there is a God? I don't know.
Does this prove anything about the Bible? I don't know.

Correction: it does prove that the Bible is full of shit. The Bible's authors are full of so much arrogant certainty of things that we cannot be sure about.
Also, I now know where the name 'Bad Astronomy' comes from!

That's actually part one in a very good series. You can find all three parts here.

Of course, Christianity, as well as all other religious myths, is based on naturally occurring phenomenon to which the ancients ascribed supernatural meaning.
I have seen that series before, but the thing that occurs to me while watching it is that Christians would say something to the effect of "Yeah, but all those others were false gods while Jebus is real." I highly doubt that too many of them would be swayed by watching this video.

101 Myths of the Bible is a good book on this subject. The xtians get a little miffed when you tell them the bible is plagiarized. tinyurl.com/dj4xuf

I highly doubt that too many of them would be swayed by watching this video. Obviously. That's been their answer to everything relating to faiths other than theirs. It's addressed in the video, actually. An early Christian apologist, when asked why his invisible sky fairy was pretty much the same as everyone else's, responded that satan had created those other religions to make it look like Christ was merely plagiarized from them. (Satan's a sneaky bastard. It's almost like God has absolutely no power to keep him in check or something.)

Yeah, I was thinking about them saying Satan creating those other religions just too fool the world, too. And yeah, looks like in a battle of wits, Satan beats God every time.

Isn't that a segment from the movie Zeitgeist? While I agree with some of what he says regarding religion that movie is just pure conspiracy theory bullshit.

Let's talk about some things that are not found in the Bible. The Bible does not support them, but also at the same time nothing in the Bible refutes them.
Vypernight brought up the belief that Jesus died for all of humanity for all of time.
I would like to throw out the idea of Jesus as personal lord and savior.

I would like to throw out the entire myth of the fall of Lucifer and the angels who followed him.

I'd like to toss out the doctrine of actually having to believe any of the crap in the Bible. Even by their own text, Jesus said, "None come to the Father except through me"...which, to me, sounds like he just has to put in a good word for you, not that you have to believe in every dot and dash in the Bible to qualify.
He also said, "What you do unto the least of these, you do unto me", referring to the poor, the lepers, the beggars, the prostitutes, etc...basically all of society's outcasts. Of course, the fundies I went to school with in KY didn't take that as a valid argument for why they should try being decent people to me, or at the least, leave me the hell alone.

My thought on Jesus was (hypothetically, if he existed); how would Christians act if they found out he only died for the sins of those existing at that moment? All others following that event are on their own. Of course that'd only work if they knew beyond the shadow of all doubt that it was true.

Every verse I've been able to find wherein Jesus talks about heaven and hell seems to indicate that you get there based on how you treat those around you and what you do to help them.
