...or at least one prude in particular does.
Ye gods, implying that a man (a bad man, no less!) of power would stoop to such lows as physically intimidating and sexually desiring a young woman? O noes!
A Disney movie with sexual undertones and relatively no caution in exploring the insanity of a classic villain, however changed (that is, he's a judge instead of a priest) he is in the Disney version? God help us all!
Shame on you, Disney, for making our society rot away at the seams with your risqué themes, your sexy gypsies and crazy priests/judges and disfigured heroes. Shame! Shame!!!
Ugh. Look, frankly, I was astonished that Disney tackled subject matter like this-- I know that people insist sexual subliminal messages are everywhere in Disney's art and movies, but unless someone more dirty-minded than I am pointed it out, I would probably never notice things like the penis in "The Little Mermaid"'s box art.
But really, you have to ask, is it really that bad? For all I know, the Disney artists are doing it on purpose, wanting to see how many people freak out about it or just drawing it for shits and giggles.
Plus do the alleged words that people keep 'finding' in Disney's works (I don't see how 'love' is a nasty word but hey whatever) actually influence little kids to go have sex? Really? Do they? Do they even influence hormonally charged teenagers to go boink?
Aside from the 'subliminal' stuff, does seeing a bad guy threaten someone harm little kids? It seems pretty fucking obvious that Judge Frollo is a bad guy whose behavior should never, ever be imitated, but is it?
I know "Hellfire" scared the shit out of me when I first saw it, but I was young and a prude and scared of Catholics. I know Esmeralda freaked me out when I first saw her, but again I was young and a prude.
Are these issues the YouTube person brings up legitimate problems with HoND, especially since it's only rated G? Or is the poster yet another concern troll who seriously needs to stop watching Disney and go outside once in a while?
(If this is the wrong section to post in, I'm sorry; I had to choose between E&T, here, and R&S.)
---I would guess that about 20-30% of what i show in these videos are not intentional subliminal messages.
But for the other 75%... stand up, educate yourselves about what is going on. For too long we have all stayed willingly ignorant, and as we do the world is rotting.
