Interesting concept but ultimately a waste of a book. Why destroy a whole book for something like this?

Yeah, I'm iffy about the whole "oops, giant hole in your favourite book" idea. Though it could be done with extra copies or whatnot, it still feels a bit like desecration.

Maybe he uses really awful books. Twilight jewelry FTW! I would feel ashamed if I ever wore that.

I would feel ashamed if I ever wore that. I'd just enjoy the awesome factor. "3 copies of Twilight DIED for this jewelry. That makes three more copies that will never be read."

I am suddenly reminded of the book burning thread.

Yeah, I'm a bit iffy on this as well specifically because of the parallels... but at least here there's something constructive being done with the book.

I'm just thinking of it as being your favorite book as part of your jewelry. And you wouldn't use a rare copy or anything. Just a regular copy. And with more people reading books digitally, this is something that will make paper books get a nice boost in sales, I guess? lol It's a neat concept either way.

I don't know whether to be amazed that this is possible and how cool the things genuinely are, or to be utterly enraged at the destruction of paper with words printed on them.
