For the past few days, I have played the Wii game Harvest Moon for hours and hours and hours. It's just so good. I haven't spent this much time on a game since I finally got my hands on a copy of The Sims 2 a few years ago. But I swear, it's the most appealing game ever. There's almost absolutely nothing wrong with it. First of all, it takes place on Waffle Island.
Yes. Waffle Island.
You really can't go wrong with a name like Waffle Island. There's Sundae Inn, Brownie Ranch, Caramel Falls... oh my.... the list is seemingly endless.
And the entire thing is just so happy. There's gorgeous scenery everywhere, soothing music, food scattered on the ground for you to eat or sell. You control your character and get to marry whomever you wish simply by giving them what they like (for example, the guy I'm trying to get, Toby, likes fish, so I give him some grilled sardines every day). You can get tons of animals (including ostriches) and put the items they produce to good use. You can also plant and tend many different crops, as well as fish in several different areas.
The entire game is so relaxed with no stress, and yet it's very rewarding as you earn money and expand your life.
Am I the only one who has played this? I know there are earlier versions of it.

I've got a ROM for the GBA version of harvest moon. I could never really get into it, I kind of prefer playing katamari on eternal mode for a relaxing sort of game.

I see, though personally I would find it difficult to enjoy any GBA game. I guess this most recent version of Harvest Moon must be appreciated in all its glory on the almighty Wii. At least, I believe so.

The SNES Harvest Moon was like that too, at least for me. There IS a time limit that I wish I could turn off, but it's still soothingly repetative. Some day, perhaps I will own a Wii and then can get this Harvest Moon for that.
