I'll be in those 2 cities at the end of the month, more details to come. While I'll be going with someone, I will have a few hours in each city for myself. So if you wanna meet up or suggest something uniquely masculine or unusual, please suggest so.
Most importantly though, I have a 8-hour layover in Melb airport on the 25th so if you can suggest something to do while there that'd be awesome.

Might be in Melbourne town around about that time, it's during the school holidays. I'll keep you posted. Can't offer anything more unusual than a drink in a pub tho. :-p

Chad: I'm only transiting in Melbourne before I head off to Sydney. I'll return on Wednesday to Melbourne for a further 3 days.
Also, I want to bring my sister and (potentially girl)friend out for Japanese. What's a good place in Sydney for that? Not terribly high priced, any decent place will do.
And chad, Deimos, tol PM me your numbers thanks if you still wanna meet up.
Davedan, as much as gay sex would turn on my friend, I don't fancy myself swinging in that direction. Plus my arse looks like an anorexic. Sorry.

When I was in Sydney in '99, I stayed in an apartment/hotel on George St., only about 2K from the harbor and Opera House. It was a rather nice area. There was a pub there that was reputed to be one of the oldest pubs either in that city or the country. It used to be a jail, I think. Liked the harbor area a lot. BTW, aren't Sydney residents called "Sydneysiders"?

What about Central Queenslanders? No? We can sit here and lick the cat's butt? Fine. Used to it.

I feel the need to point out that Queensland is second only to Tasmania as the state with the most unflattering stereotype.
Take from that what you will.
