Jesus H Christ, bojangles, that's unreal *much hugging and, tbh, a bit of clinging*
I'm so glad you and your friend are okay. And my condolences for the loss of the guard... god, all I can think of is 'unreal'. Just... fucking unreal.

Do something extra special relaxing. Godless, I don't even know how I'd "wind down" from something like that!

I'm glad things ended... well, with a minimum of harm. I feel terrible for that security guard's family, but I am happy a member of the FSTDT family came through safe and sound.

That must have been scary. I am glad that the fstdt community has not lost a good member today.

Yikes. Glad you're allright. I guess you weren't really in any danger, but it must have been intense having something like that going on so near by.

Thanks again everyone. Took your advice DV and had a super relaxing evening.
Perv, you are right, the chance of something happening to those of us in the office was quite small. The diamond shop just had a back entrance which goes directly into the fire escape so they were worried that they would try and escape into the upper levels of the building which was why everything was shut off.
It was much scarier for my friend who was only a couple of metres away when people started shooting.
*hugs to everyone again*
