If Beck is THAT pissed then you know Obama is doing a great job. Also, I wonder why Cuba is having such financial problems? It may be the embargo that we've had there for decades..... Yeah. It couldn't possibly be... I don't know... five decades of socialism?

I dunno, I think the U.S. trying to destroy the Cuban economy since they nationalized a bunch of U.S. corporations might cause more harm than *gasp* socialism.

All I can say is...
Believe in something! Even if it's wrong, believe in it!

It couldn't possibly be... I don't know... five decades of socialism? How's that worked out for China? Edit: My point being here, China is currently an Emergent world power, and the reason they have become such is due to the fact that the US opened diplomacy with them during the Nixon administration. Not saying Cuba would be a world power, but just showing that your trade with the most powerful country in the world has far more of an effect on you economic standing then what type of system you declare yourself to be.

Because we all know that Cuba was a Shangrila for the common Cuban under Batista.

Even Crooks and Liars got sick of Glenn Beck. crooksandliars.com/david-neiwert/glenn-beck-breaking-pointP.S. The collapse of the Cuban economy, among others, can be traced back to a failure in the 1960s of a nationwide plan to reinvigorate Cuba's agricultural sector. Like the USA, Cuba pumped massive amounts of federal funds into (I believe it was) the sugar cane industry. Like the USA, the move created massive tracts of farmland, and the biggest harvest ever. Unlike the USA, the move was still unprofitable, and because Cuba had little else to fall back on (the embargo stifling tourism among others), the economy collapsed and the land fell into disuse.

I still love how they jump on Obama for daring to focus on something else besides the economy. It pisses them off to no end that the democrats provided a President who can multi-task, chew bubble gum, kick ass, take names, and still ensure his fly is zipped. Too bad Michelle is still just an accessory to the media. "ZOMG SHES NOT WEARING SLEEVES!" But yeah. I love how they complain about the guy actually being able to take on more than one task at a time.

You really think that the economy is run democratically?

He's redefined Democrat, liberal, Republican, and conservative already. Why not Communism, Socialism, and even McCartneyism (Not to be confused with McCarthyism)?

I was gonna go with Lennonism, but it was too on the nose.

And he's all out of bubblegum... *slams fist into opposite palm* I actually happen to agree with him here, which worries me. I don't think secession is a good idea, or even a practical one, and his REASONS for it are retarded, but I don't really see the Constitution as originally chaining anyone to the Union. The reality that secession rarely has any kind of support beyond maybe three or four percent in most states (except Vermont, where it apparently hovers between eight and ten percent) is immaterial. As long as the secession is done democratically, let 'em go. (As a side note, imagine a US severed from the original secessionist South. It'd hurt the US somewhat, to be sure, as that region carries, I believe, about a quarter of the economy, but it'd sure as hell help our politics and theirs. They can have free market fundietopia, we can have a more protectionist secular state. EVERYBODY is happy, except the people who aren't.)
