I was just visited by police that I called.
To pick up my drunkard, stupid, narcissistic ass for a father for hitting my mom with a pumice stone.
Most people don't want to talk about it, but for me?
It feels like I have to put it online, so I can talk to people about it.
Sorry about this, but if I don't say it, it feels like it'll be worse.

*hugs* you have my deepest sympathies.
And I find it is always better to talk, even if it is online

Good for you, calling the police. Don't be ashamed to talk about it here. Talking can help get you through some tough times. *hugs*

Dude, I know it hurts to have to do that. But you did the right thing. You did what you had to do. You're not to blame, your father is to blame for putting you in that predicament. Just look at this as the first step in bringing helpful people into your family so that you can make situations better.

That really sucks, you did the right thing calling the cops on him!

It would be worse if you didn't. A lot of people are too frightened to call and it goes on and on and on with no one else being the wiser. Having to look at the statistics for such things is heart breaking.
You did the right thing, so don't ever think you didn't just because he is your father.

I never thought otherwise.
Really, that's the good thing about dissociation: you don't think about the emotional implications until it's over.
I think the fact that I was prepared for it emotionally helped a lot.
That said, it does get a little lonely without him for Thanksgiving-inpatient therapy.

You calling the police is the bravest thing you could have done. Unless you 6 foot tall and 400 pounds of pure rage, then it was the smartest thing you could have done.
And you're lucky to have people on this forum who care. Many people in this situation don't.

You calling the police is the bravest thing you could have done. Seconded. You did good. Calling the police on your own father takes courage, but it makes the message unequivocally clear: his behaviour is not appreciated.
