To provide some light entertainment for us all, I've decided to start up a little game that's had varying degrees of success on other message boards. The rules are simple:
1) Always two there are: Each post will consist of a choice between two similar items, ideas, situations, or other such stuff. Only 2 choices are allowed; no more, no fewer. First, you pick one of the two choices in the previous post, then add 2 choices of your own for someone else to ponder.
2) Do, or do not. There is no "try": "Both" and "neither" are not acceptable responses, nor is it permissible to choose a third option. If you can't decide between the two most current options, please leave them available for other players.
3) ...and now, a word from our sponsors: When picking one of the previous posters choices, you are strongly encouraged, but not absolutely required, to add a few words (ideally, no more than 50) explaining why you made the choice you did.
4) A deja vu is usually a glitch in the Matrix: You may not repeat a pair of choices used in any previous post, be it yours or someone else's. However, if choices A and B were previously used, it's permissible to post, say, A and C, or B and C.
5) Two-gap Rule: To prevent the game from being monopolized by anyone in particular, once a player responds to a pair of choices and posts a new pair of choices, s/he must wait until at least two other players have posted after him/her before posting again.
6) Three Day Rule: To keep the game going, if a post has gone at least 3 days with no response, Rule 5 is temporarily suspended, and the player who made the post immediately before the current one is allowed to respond.
7) What's the matter, officer? I'll tell you what's the matter. It's a little insurance policy of mine called "Directive Four":
**This rule is currently classified. Don't worry, though; it's currently impossible to break.**
As the OP in this thread, I'll start the game off with an easy pair of choices:
McDonalds or Burger King?
