You know, the power to give other people super powers at will would have ENDLESS entertainment potential.... Especially if you can take them away. My sister once pondered that one of the best ways to fuck with someone's mind would be to give them telekinesis, once, when they're alone, then take it away and watch them spend the rest of their life trying to replicate it. Then, twenty years down the line, repeat, then never again. It was pondered in the context of Karma punishing you for something, but it works equally well for power-granting humans.

None, because there's nothing to be controlled?

I'd like the ability to freeze time, please! Portal creation, probably. Instantaneous access to resources like asteroids, or gas planets, or being able to build a moonbase for next to nothing.. Of course, all that depends on any distance restrictions.. The two of you are close to what I want. I want the ability to use any doorway or archway as a portal to anywhere on earth (think Stargate) and I want the ability to control time at will. That's somewhat eerie, that you'd thought of this, because I've been wishing for something similar. Except I'd totally do it Wheel of Time style. The rotatin' Gateways that the ability Traveling makes. ;D With that, you could transport large amounts of people or items, all at once, depending on your strength. ... Man, I can see this being useful for providing aid to those who need it. Think of where this'd be useful in natural disasters.

I want the ability to control time at will. Now I think about it, that would be better - I'd like the ability to go both forward and backward in time as well.

How about the power of flight, that do anything for you? That's levitation, homes!. How about the power to kill a yak from 200 yards away with MIND BULLETS! That's Telekinesis, Kyle! No?
Hmmmm, how about the power...to move you....

Oh, so many good superpowers to choose. Invisibility, X-ray vision, flight, etc. In the end I'd have to go with temporary mind control. And I'd use it for the betterment of Rook-kind. ("Officer, I wasn't speeding." "No, you weren't.")

Too much potential to screw things up, even without paradoxes. Like the end of the first Back to the Future - it's a relatively mild case, but the world Marty remembers and the world he accidentally changed that to are completely different. His parents are virtual strangers with new personalities, different sets of memories... even by itself it would be horrible, but if you really screw something up you could erase the world you knew with no way of setting things right. I'd go for invulnerability. Or regeneration. Whatever gets me immortality. I'd rather live a long time (not forever, though) than have a cool superpower and still end up dead in 80 years. If I got to pick another one, it'd be mind control. Because really, what can't you do with mind control?

How about giving them super-senses in the men's room....? Or the ability to stretch body parts when they are in the middle of some nookie....? Or X-ray vision while walking past the kitchen of a Chinese restaurant....? How about pyrokinesis while they're on an airplane?

Then I can steal all of your super powers.

We already established that I would only pick mind control if I already had invulnerability.

I'd take either invisibility or the ability to fly.
