The adjective 'Vespun' is unfamiliar to me.

I'm having issues with the Wiki forum. But under "Races" I was going to write:
I guess we need to discuss what human life expectancy will be, first off, since age 69 is as of 2008. Do we want to keep that number, or do we want to change it in some way to make it more fitting to our time period and our stories?

The adjective 'Vespun' is unfamiliar to me. Should really be "Vespuccian" but that sounded too rubbish and Italian. That is to say, rubbish as well as being Italian, not necessarily rubbish because it is Italian. Although the Italianosity* of it contributionationalised* to its rubbishnessicity*. *perfectly cromulent word.

I've been thinking about the magic system. At first it bugged me that magical changes to inanimate objects were temporary but changes to the human body (specifically healing) were permanent (your wound doesn't open back up after the mage stops concentrating). I figured it should be one or the other, temporary or permanent, but then it struck me that difference is that living tissue naturally regenerates anyway, and that process could explain why changes don't revert. That led me to imagine that there might be ways to permanently fix changes in certain inanimate objects, such as with special heat or chemical treatment. It would be much to inefficient for any kind of mass production, but it could be used to make rare, quasi-magical artifacts. Suggestion for that has been made here Which you might gather is a page I just created.

When I see this thread's title, a part of my mind keeps insisting that it's actually "Operation DragonLance". Mmm, Kitiara.

I'd figure their pigmenation would reflect where they were from, like how it is with humans. That was my assumption as well.

I saw it earlier and responded to it, but now it's gone. I just put it back in.

Wow, that's strange. Either way, thank you for adding it on there. I'll attempt to post again.

Shifting World Episode IV: A New Vote
OK, so we've got a slight difficulty in the worldbuilding: should national counterparts in the SW universe retain their real-world names (i.e. the United States remains the United States) or should they be renamed (i.e. the United States becomes the Vespun Usonia)?
Personally, I think making up daft names is half the point.
Names the same (United States) - 1 Name changes (Vespun Usonia) - 1

Is that counting my vote already?

Is that counting my vote already? Yes. I felt it was a fairly safe assumption. I also felt that it was safe to assume that two more polls about important issues would ensue, as well as, after some time, three more that would confuse, bore and/or annoy everybody, and yet somehow acquire more votes.

For me, this is a non-issue: I don't think there even should be 1:1 nation counterparts.
To clarify: I would want a country which is ruled by a monarch, has seemingly constant bad weather, whose people are known for their dry humor, poor cuisine, unflappable attitude, and addiction to a specific drink. But I wouldn't necessarily locate it on that island just off the European coast.

I vote for new names. More fun, plus it adds to the idea of different world with different history. I'd prefer no one-to-one correspondence, as well. Possibly a mix of some nations being clear counterparts and others being completely different. Particularly elven and dwarven majority nations. By the by, does anyone with more Wikia experience know how to move this to the Worldbuilding forum?

Shit, making new countries is probably the easiest option.
