If you hadn't heard of this, Penn & Teller: Bullshit! is a show which runs on Showtime in which the magicians debunk various myths and conspiracies. Yes, they do a lot of political work too, which I don't always agree with, such as a Wal-Mart apologetics episode, but they're Libertarians so I know what to expect. More importantly, they've done episodes satirizing and debunking myths about psychics, drugs, Nostradomus, 9/11 conspiracies, homeopathic medicine, ghost-hunting, alien abductions, Creationism/Intelligent Design, near-death experiences, the Bible, homosexuality (such as the idea that gays can "turn straight"), abstinence, excorcism, etc. Well, the topics of Season 7 have been officially released, and I can't wait for some of the episodes:
# Title Air date 7-01 Orgasms June 25, 2009 7-02 Astrology July 2, 2009 7-03 Video Games July 9, 2009 7-04 The Apocalypse July 16, 2009 7-05 Lie Detectors July 23, 2009 7-06 Organic Food July 30, 2009 7-07 Taxes August 6, 2009 7-08 Lawns August 13, 2009 7-09 Stress August 20, 2009 7-10 The Vatican August 27, 2009
Specifically, I can't wait for the Video Games episode (they'll probably tear our "favorite" lawyer a new one), the Apocalypse (hope Rapture Ready is watching) and the Vatican. (The orgasm one should be pretty good as well.)
So, if you're a fan of the show, that's the info on the newest season. If you've never seen it, I highly suggest you watch. And if you're like me, and don't even get Showtime, do what I do and find the episodes on Youtube ^_^

I love Bullshit! but it can make me pretty irritated at times. It feels like they're often being hypocritical and using the exact same tactics that they say that others shouldn't be using when they make their arguments. And the libertarianism can be obnoxious at times.
But it's still good entertainment. And I've seen them acknowledge some of the bullshit that they use when presenting their arguments. Actually, I think Penn mentioned at one time that they were probably going to do an episode about that. Do you know if they ever did? I haven't seen it for a season or two, so I might have missed it. But I distinctly remember him saying that there would be a "The bullshit of Bullshit!" episode.

Yeah, he said that when they have the series finale (whenever that would be) that's what it's going to be. And I completely agree with you about the tactics of the show. But because of it, I learned information that I hadn't known about before, like that Mount Rushmore's final design was created by a white supremacist. Plus, the first time I'd ever seen Christopher Hitchens was on their show. (Also, hearing Penn call a Creationist an "asshole" or a "motherfucker" just warms my heart.)

Yeah, he said that when they have the series finale (whenever that would be) that's what it's going to be. Well, that is certainly going to be interesting. And I'll try to find some time to start watching the show again; I do think that the good parts outweigh my problems with it. I'm usually very entertained.

I love Bullshit. But I take it as entertainment, because I know quite a few of their own arguments are Bullshit.

Some of their shows were good. I felt that the creationist show could have ripped into the creationist arguments more than just mocking the creationists themselves (not that there's anything wrong with that), and their one of profanity was very well done.

I've been a Penn & Teller fan for years, and have enjoyed Bullshit! since it's first season. I watch it more for the hilarity than the actual content, but they have done some very good shows.
I've also seen their Las Vegas show. Also very entertaining.

Bullshit! is a great show...but I'm damn sure that the Taxes episode is going to be pretty heavily slanted toward libertarianism.

I love Bullshit, I was introduced through their PETA one (the image of the chicken eating the KFC, is forever burned into my head).
I wish we got it on TV up here.

Haha... Bullshit! is one of my favorite shows ever. Penn & Teller are awesome.
And from the looks of it, this season is going to be a really good one.
I have to say though, I don't mind the ones some others seem to have a problem with, like the Wal-Mart one. Sure, Wal-Mart has done stuff that some people disagree with. Name a company that hasn't. But they don't deserve the bad rap they get simply for being successful.

Well it's not so much that they're successful as much as I simply loathe their reliance on sweat-shop labor, their stance on unions and treatment of disabled workers. But they're Libertarians, so I knew what they were going to say

Well it's not so much that they're successful as much as I simply loathe their reliance on sweat-shop labor, their stance on unions and treatment of disabled workers. But they're Libertarians, so I knew what they were going to say The sweat-shop issue is one a lot of people just don't seem to understand. If those people didn't have those "horrible" sweat-shop jobs, their alternatives for employment in their native countries are typically FAR worse. By yelling "shut down the sweat shops" you're effectively saying "take away the best way of making a living that hundreds of thousands of people have". A lot of the time, it really does boil down to "Do I work at a sweat shop, or do I work as a prostitute?" I'd pick the sweat shop any day. Frankly, I agree with Wal-Mart's stance on unions. Unions are, themselves, businesses. They don't give a flying fuck about their members, only about collecting dues. They're also effectively powerless, since you're basically just paying someone else to ask for the things you're too scared to ask for yourself. There's also the fact that if unions exist in a certain field, and you chose not to join them because you don't feel you should have to pay a fee simply to work in a certain field, you basically can't find work because the unions will force you out. Unions maybe had a point once, but any benefit they once held has long since evaporated, and they now serve simply to inflate prices by making manufacturers have to send those increased costs on to consumers. As for their treatment of disabled workers, I can't really comment. That's a field where I have no clue, so I'll stay away from it.
