I'm gonna get hurt for this, probably but...
Anyone else totally hooked on the new My Little Pony? I've been watching since the 2-part pilot aired... and I'm 27 and a GUY!
*isn't sure whether to hide from inevitable beat-down, or mocking*

It's a pretty friggin' awesome show. I desire more of it. Seeing all the episodes isn't enough. More episodes, Hasbro! =<
Also, Hasbro, while you're up, make some show-accurate Rainbow Dash merchandise. Seriously.

For those of us who only watch two hours of TV a week, could someone describe the new show?

A good way to do that is to check the TVTropes page. But in summary: Twilight Sparkle is a bookish unicorn pony who feels she has no need for friends--until she's sent to the town of Ponyville and learns that, well, Friendship is Magic. It follows the adventures of six main ponies who have badass, well-animated adventures that are actually funny, and while the show does have a sort of "moral" at the end of each episode (Twilight writes to the princess what she's learned about friendship from her recent encounters), it's never really heavy-handed or forced. The characters are terrific and have a lot of personality, the art style is simple but dynamic, and also it's made by Lauren fucking Faust. You know, wife of Craig McCracken, the guy who made the Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends? Yeah, I think it's safe to say she knows what she's doing. She's made a girls' show that isn't girly. One filled with cloud cuckoolanders, and monsters, and Buttercup expies, and background gags promoted simply because the fans liked it. And everyone can appreciate it. And if you have no time for television, you can find it quite frequently on YouTube. Hasbro knows they have a merchandise-driven series and seems mercifully lenient about having the show displayed places. Which, as you can see, is just more awesome for the show.

So, basically, it's a children's TV show that doesn't treat children like they're stupid.
I approve!

zachski: There's an episode that, ostensibly, deals with racism of all things. No, I'm not kidding. And it's awesome.
Also, for those out there that want to watch this, look up pensivepony on Youtube. They're great for having the episodes up a few hours after they air on TV.

Hopy shit, I've heard people talking about this, actually. I never realized it was recent. Or that it was a show.

I heard it was good and couldn't possibly believe it. I was like, "Yeah, right." But I decided to check it out to see if I could figure out why people would say that.
And the next thing I knew I had watched eighteen episodes.

I'm proud of you, FSTDT, for not posting any pony image macros in this thread.
I know it's tempting.
