I mostly write about things I already post in the forums or the IRC (or find there). I've been keeping it for ~9 months now, though I've been updating sporadically at best because of busyness and just plain laziness.
As an aside, the name is a pun on Spike Lee and my real-life nickname. It stemmed from an inside joke way back when, because I somewhat admired Spike Lee and his films. Somehow it stuck and became my default online handle until I adopted "shykid." "Spike Dee" is still my second choice when "shykid" is taken. As a result, just as many of my online friends call me "Spike" as they do "Shy," even though I don't really act or look like a "Spike" since I'm not (1.) Spike Lee, (2.) a dbag, or (3.) a Rottweiler.
Sooner or later, I'll resume posting on my day-job's blog, but for now I haven't had a damn thing up there since November of last year. Been too busy producing game art to actually talk about game art. Ironic, isn't it.
Too late to stand back. Science is already underway.
I have a writing blog on LJ. The main feature is a series of detailed commentaries on bad fanfic, mostly Harry Potter, which I use as a starting point to examine what makes for good and bad writing in general.
