If the girl finds it to be rape, yes, although there is a major difference between being a little nervous and being outright terrified. There are also plenty of people who are too scared to say no, for a variety of reasons. It depends heavily on how the person feels before, during, and after, really. This blogger is better at explaining such situations than I am. She doesn't agree it's rape, but either way, it's something that should be avoided, and it's, at the very least, uncomfortably close to rape. I dunno, I really don't think you can call it "rape" unless the woman straight up denies consent (says stop, no, don't, get off me, I don't think we should do this, physically tries to push him off, etc), is physically forced (by an armed attacker or otherwise), or drugged beyond the ability to think (including blitzed out of her brain). The latter two points need no extra comment, but on the first one - you have to make your lack/withdrawal of consent completely known. Otherwise, the guy may not actually know the girl he's with is more than just a little bit nervous or hesitant or unsure of herself. To say otherwise is possibly condemn guys who had no way of knowing anything was wrong being sent to jail alongside the violent freaks. |

Your right, nagging was the wrong word to use. How about borderline harrassment. You know guilt tripping, lying, and persuring her until she submitts. YOU KNOW WHEN SHE DOESN'T WANT TO HAVE SEX BUT IS BASICALLY MADE TO DO SO. Pressuring some one into sex is wrong when they may not say no but that's what their body langue and everything else is saying about them. I really don't see how hard this is to follow. Jesus H. Christ what is it about dumb people and Florida. Doesn't seem like all the nuts roll to Florida? If you don't what to have sex, say no. Pressuring someone into sex is wrong, but that does not make it rape. A women saying, "fine lets just have sex so I don't have to hear you any more" is still consent. Why, because she could just as easily say "No, now shut the fuck up." and remove herself from the situation. If the person pressuring her does not stop then that crosses over to harassment. Oh, and if you are going to insult me, try harder. Don't fucking half-ass it. I know it maybe hard for you to think because of that distracting magic moving T-Rex in the corner, but I assure you, he is not going to do anything different. I may live in Florida, but at least I know where in Florida I live. You know that have these things called maps. With at little work you might be able to figure out where you are. You know like going outside and reading a street sign. Hell, if you really start paying attention you might find out that you live in state famous for tomatoes and spray tan douche-bags. At least I get good weather most of the year. What, you don't move because your afraid that your IQ in NJ might not look so good without the cast of Jersey Shore pulling that average down? If I where you I would stick to debating Snookie, the tomatoes might be to much for you. |

Somehow, I'm more concerned about the woman who feels violated than the man who accidentally raped a woman, especially when the latter is highly unlikely to be convicted or even have the rape reported, and the former is afraid that the latter would do far worse to her if she kept saying no. And all it really takes is a "Hey, wanna fuck?" to not rape people.

And all it really takes is a "Hey, wanna fuck?" to not rape people. You're making out with someone. There's fondling, touching, fooling around. Clothing starts to come off. They stop everything dead in its tracks and ask "Hey, I just wanna be sure, are you consenting to sex right now?" I'm betting the answer would be "Well, I was, but that killed the moment". Look, if you're saying that a dude who doesn't stop or think anything is wrong when his girlfriend isn't taking a role in the proceedings (not kissing back, not removing any clothing on their own, etc) might be a rapist, then I can get behind that. If you're saying that a dude who is supposed to know that the girl who is making out with him, helping with the removal of clothes, and touching on him a little while still seeming a little hesitant or nervous is not consenting, then you've lost me. You into the realm of having to be a mind reader. |
