Is this really what fundies think science is? Science is not the Vatican. There's no Elder Council locked behind huge stone doors or whatever it was in the story. Even the deeper meaning is pretty stupid. I get it, the scientists, in their pursuit of knowledge, are actually counterproductive in the search for enlightenment. The old lady, who doesn't actively seek answers, is actually more enlightened. Right, so the true path to enlightenment is to throw up your hands and say goddidit.

Zen masters spend their lives meditating on such questions. What do you know, they should just follow the fundies and shut their minds down. Who'd of thunk it.
Nah, I think I'll still use the Zen path, my brains off switch seems to have snapped.
Anyway, wouldn't that be a question for philosophers, not scientists?
