Sever the head and the snake dies. This should be a death knell for Al-Qaeda! Nah, as happy news as this is, some shit'll step up to the plate and continue giving us all grief.

Or they may in fact get worse. Martyr Syndrome and all that.

That should have been playing in the background as Obama was giving his statement.

Sever the head and the snake dies. This should be a death knell for Al-Qaeda! Not likely. They may become fractured groups but it won't stop Al-Qaeda.

When I first heard of this story I was in disbelief. I was like "Seriously?".
I'm also curious as to how the right wing is going to put this in a negative spin.
Then again, I'm more worried about this news getting the terrorist factions in more of an uproar because Bin Laden will be seen as a martyr for their cause.

That should have been playing in the background as Obama was giving his statement. If I was American, that would ensure that I voted for Obama.

Not likely. They may become fractured groups but it won't stop Al-Qaeda. Fractured groups lack resources and coordination. But I would argue that fractured groups would be harder to get rid off and perhaps find other resources.

I think I'll rewatch that movie tonight, just for the occasion.
