The quote in question is, (from this larger quote) It occurs to me that within my lifetime, and even recently, fundies are beginning to regard homosexuality as an innate characteristic, albeit one that must be resisted, instead of a "lifestyle choice." There are still plenty that think that, but the framing is beginning to change. Thoughts?

I've noticed that too. In my experience, most fundies now seem to consider homosexual orientation as inherent, but claim that homosexual sex acts (and relationships, though I can hardly get them to debate only relationships; they always try to shift the subject to sexual acts) are sinful. The sad part is that they regard it as almost a mental disorder, with promises that "God will change* your sexuality".
*Insistent terminology in one case: One guy insisted that God had CONSECRATED his brother's sexuality, not CHANGED; of course, it's still brainwashing and rarely NEVAR works.

I think that now, with homosexuality becoming mainstream, saying that it's a lifestyle choice is guaranteed to make you look stupid. But now it's more like how chastity and sexuality are treated: ignore it, and it will go away. People are born sexual, but they can ignore it - that's chastity. So by mixing it with homosexuality, we get "people are born gay, but they can ignore it." Then it comes back to being a moral issue.

So, basically, they are saying that God fucked up when he created certain people, and then has to go in and fix them? But..but...God is perfect and totally infallible **Head asplode!**
Are humans still in the beta stage?

God made us all in his image. So God is bisexual.

God is pansexual methinks.
Of course I see a terrible implication about the "even if you were born that way you don't have to act that way" position. For one, I think this is/was used for promoting racists ideology, e.g. "Just because you were born black doesn't mean you have to act black" type of thoughts.

He just likes to life harder on some people more than others.

For one, I think this is/was used for promoting racists ideology, e.g. "Just because you were born black doesn't mean you have to act black" type of thoughts. Wait, what? Acting gay vs. Acting black doesn't make sense to me. Acting gay would be having a same-sex relationship, right? What would acting black be? Ghetto-talking? Gang-banging(not sexual)? I'd like some clarification, because I despise two of the behaviors listed; I don't think that's acting black, I think it's being stupid and irresponsible. I'm probably using the bastardized version of black, but the literal version of gay... I just don't see how you can act black outside of my examples.

Stereotypes. There, your question is answered.

Sorry, but I have to disagree. I have seen this line of reasoning, that sin is a natural compulsion yadayada, yet I usually see it accompanied with a vehement denial that people are born gay.
