and I don't know how to fix it..
My webcam doesn't work. When I open it, it displays and error "Webcam driver open fail. Please restart camera or computer."
I've restarted the computer, I've done a system restore as far back as I could go and I've attempted to re-download the driver off the net via Google. I have a Qosmio F55-Q502 and have Windows Me not 7, any ideas?

I don't think you broke it. One thing I've learned about computers and software is that they're quite capable of breaking themselves without human intervention.
Just like electronic cords can tangle themselves together even after being laid nicely in order and never touched for an entire year.
As for your problems, well... I seem to be having trouble locating a solution.
One person on another forum posted that it was because of Windows Update. Did you have a Windows update between when you used it last and when it broke?

Unistall, restart, install drivers fresh, restart, hope for the best... If that doesn't work it could well be something borked in the BIOS (in which case no clue what to do to help) or the cam gave up the ghost. If it's the latter fixing it basically comes down to buying a new webcam instead of dealing with the headache that is repairing a laptop. You can get a half-decent cam for not very much.

I'm wondering why you're running Windows Me on a laptop with more than 2GB of RAM. Especially when the laptop was originally sold with Windows Vista Home Premium.
