At least they aren't doing forcibly this time, unlike the 1920s. Eugenics for the loss! 20's? That stuff happened up until the 70s, often without their knowledge or consent. Yay, American history!

There's still the odd case that pops up about some asshole sterilizing women without their knowledge, but I have no idea if those are just urban legends or what.

Make it $100,000 and I'd consider having a vasectomy (since I'm male and not female)
$1,000 is maybe a month's worth of bills... if that?

Make it a solid 10 K (or 20) and I'd be in line, as a guy.

I'd take the $1000 personally (if hypothetically it also applied to upper-middle class Australian males, which it unfortunately doesn't). Hell, I was kinda planning to get snipped should the opportunity for sexytimes ever present itself in the future.

$1000 is most of two months' rent for me. Or two semesters' worth of textbooks. Or most of the computer I have on layby...

Yeah, it would have to be higher than $1000 before I'd consider. Paying for me to go back to school might do the trick.

Does he ever specify who will foot the bill for the procedure? I doubt $1k will cover it and the cynic in me says this guy wouldn't want to pay for the procedure and give someone money.

I don't know if he expounded upon his idea. It was brought up a couple years ago and I haven't much found anything more about it.

You know, covering the cost of contraceptives for the poor would probably be a lot cheaper, a lot more universal, and it's a fuckton less drastic.

But the Bible specifically says to not use contraceptives!

Sign me up! I'm going there in a week anyway! ;D
....Ehhh. Awfully tempting, but it would have to be more than $1K for me too. Cheap bastards. Plus he wants to do it for the wrong reasons.

Okay I finally did some legwork and it seems he was removed from his position, for his suggestion amongst other things. www.onenewsnow.com/Politics/Default.aspx?id=289694But that shouldn't keep people from continuing to comment. ;D edited for my grammar and spelling
