So hey, this is fun! www.no2nuclearpower.org.uk/Chernobyl-UK.phpAn interactive map, where you can click on individual nuclear power stations, and see how much of the UK would have to be permanently evacuated if the same responses were put in place after a Chernoyble sized nuclear incident. Did I say fun? I meant terrifying. Its from a fairly rabid anti-nuclear site, so I take it with a grain of salt, but still... flashbacks to being a Cold War kid terrified of spontaneous nuclerar annihilation. Good times.

Don't be silly. No laser-squirrel would follow a human. The animosity between our kind and theirs goes back a hundred generations! 'Tis but the name that is my enemy; Thou art thyself, though not a human. What's human? it is nor hand, nor foot, Nor arm, nor face, nor any other part Belonging to a man. O, be some other name! What's in a name? that which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet; So squirrels would, were they not squirrels call'd, Retain that dear perfection which they owe Without that title. Squirrel, doff thy name, And for that name which is no part of thee Take all myself.

If radiation could actually make that happen, I'd be rooting for nuclear disasters, then bide my time until my laser-squirrel army was complete. My atomic powered murder wolves would mince your laser eyes squirrels! (The next obvious thought is to atomic powered dickwolves... but lets not go there and say we did if anyone asks.)

People still go on Neopets?
(I did in the past, but got randomly frozen after having left for a couple months and couldn't get anything back. Random losses of everything for no apparent reason? No thx.)

I go on Neopets every single day. It is literally the first website I open. My schedule is pretty much "wake up, get dressed, Neopets, other websites".

I go on Neopets every day to get my dailies and stuff and maybe participate in a site event. It's fun to pass the time there.

Wasn't Chernobyl's incident due to complete idiocy, though? I mean, as long as you don't have...idiots...in charge...oh god we're all fucking screwed. Nah but yeah that's fucking scary.

Radioactive wolves. For real. And you morons were worried about zombie apocalypses, when these radioactive wolves are out there, increasing their numbers... Psssh. Shows what you know. The leading cause of zombiism is radiation-related fatalities. These radioactive wolves are merely increasing the odds of a zombie apocalypse.

Wasn't Chernobyl's incident due to complete idiocy, though? I mean, as long as you don't have...idiots...in charge...oh god we're all fucking screwed. I live less than 20 minutes from a nuclear plant which has repeatedly failed safety inspections. Yet we won't close it down because it is too " vital" to the economy and stuff. After the Japanese Tsunami, they spent a huge amount of cash trying to allay our fears that they are ill prepared to resist an earthquake by pointing out the tsunami was the big problem. Even though we're more likely to get an earthquake, don't worry, because we're unlikely to get a tsunami! It's cheaper to run an ad campaign than to fix things. Also, I know several of the people they've hired in the past as security guards, and while they're my friends, I wouldn't trust them to guard my refuse. They've all been fired, but the fact they were hired in the first place scares me.

I had always understood that it is weather and usage that fucks a road up, combined. No heavy vehicles using the roads probably makes them last a lot longer. Sure, that would make sense. And after 20 years I'm sure they look okay. I'm not, ice is a bitch. I already see potholes magically appear after each winter on maintained roads.

They were using graphite as a neutron moderator, which was a huge factor in the resulting contamination (due to graphite being combustible), the design resulted in a positive void coefficient, and the explosion occurred during a reckless experiment. The designs used in North America are considered much safer (negative void coefficient, using water as both a coolant and neutron moderator), though that doesn't say anything about the potential idiocy of the operators, nor their ability to still somehow find a way to screw something up.

But those roads are also subject to vehicular wear, which probably does significant damage. Don't be silly. No laser-squirrel would follow a human. Yes, but the potholes only magically appear in the winter, not the summer, spring, or fall. And I do expect the damage done to the roads there to be less, but 20 years without repair cannot be a good thing in an area where it freezes.

Psh, like the Ukrainian winter is any worse than winter in Arizona.
