It's about $600-$700. But yeah, it's towards the upper end of the price range - about what you'd expect of Cannondale.

It's £550 list, but I did some negotiating. Yeah, decent bikes are fecking expensive, You could easily blow a few grand on one if you were so inclined. Second-hand bikes are sadly a minefield of stolen goods and other folk's problems. I could have got a good bike, but if it was nicked or ready to fall apart, I wouldn't have known, and that was just going to end up costing me more monry and aggravation long-term.
I think I've pretty much settled on the Bad Boy. Anything else in the same price bracket is either pretty much the same, or has better running gear at the expense of a heavier frame. I took a few days trying bikes out, from shops and friends, and being as objective as I could, it just does what I want better. The weaknesses it has (The gear mech and brakes are decent, entry-mid level parts, but hardly the top of the line) are all more than endurable, and easily upgraded if I decide to.

So I ended up getting the Cannondale. I couldn't be happier. Thing is ridiculously fast. I can bike home easily after a double shift and sail up the 1-in-3 hill next to the house, which is all I really needed of it.
I will say that slick tyres and disc brakes are probably not designed for the Irish climate. The back end gets a little *interesting* when you try stopping from 30mph at the lights. Still, gets the ould heart pumping of a morning.
