Got my group's AGM this weekend, I think you can guess how much fun it's going to be when the more nationalistic types get told we're dropping the Jacobite part.....

Got my group's AGM this weekend, I think you can guess how much fun it's going to be when the more nationalistic types get told we're dropping the Jacobite part..... Not enough people? Too much emotional baggage: Too many in Scotland try and make it a Scotland vs England thing and then go on to air their predjudices against England. There's also an element of the faction who think that ownership of a sword and a plaid makes them 'more Scottish' than the rest of us, I think you know the types I mean...... But the AGM went off well, we're now going to be a Foot Tournament group as well as re-enacting. In both cases we will try and maintain the highest standards of authenticity and fighting (getting both is, let's face it, a rare beast indeed! ). I was elected as Safety Officer (unanimous vote!) and we are going to start hosting our own events - we have one at Urquhart Castle and possibly one at Cawdor Castle, plus some really good events thoughout Britain for next year.

I have told you how envious I am of the fact that you can just go and host your own events at real castles, havn't I?

US Civil War, Revolutionary War, WWII...
I'd like to see a Cold War re-enactment someday.
(pokes Scotsgit in the chest)
