Only one that surprised me was Vince Vaughn. My apathy at that was amazing. I am surprised that anyone was surprised at Koontz. Also, did they choose the scariest possible pictures.

Not to put a too fine point in it, but something occurred to me:
Imagine a RR or Moonbattery thread where at the beginning, a list of left-leaning celebrities/artists is linked. Now the members proceed to comment on it, mention naïve statements and point of views present in their works, calling them talentless, or decry that they actually liked their works but now are shocked about their political stance... What would you think about such a thread?

And not a shit was given by me.
Jerry Bruckheimer? BLECH. He's responsible for about half of the trash polluting the TV airwaves.
Sam Raimi has made nothing of value outside of Army of Darkness and Xena.
Vince Vaughn? I'm sorry, my level of apathy towards this revelation could only be greater if they had named Rob Schneider instead.

I'm actually not surprised by Lydon. It's far easier to convert someone to your extremist views who already holds extremist views, even if they are opposite to yours, than it is to convert a moderate.

Not on that list (but should be) is Dee Snider. His whole reason for voting Republican because he's still pissed at the Dems for the PMRC hearings. Yes, because all Democrats are social conservatives with sticks rammed up their asses...so we vote for those who are social conservatives to the max...lots of sense there I agree with him being pissed at the Dems for the PMRC hearings, but this is what happens when the Dems lose their way, and become Republican Lite...no wonder I'm jaded when it comes to politics in the U.S.

What would you think about such a thread? Probably think they were scraping the bottom of the barrel. Which they kinda already are. Though at least this list is a better fare than the usual ones I see. Though to be clear, one of the things that generally makes these lists so sad is the blasting of Hollywood and the record industry, but the immediate fellating of anyone who shares their views. Alice Cooper? Seen him praised by people who hate everything he stands for otherwise, JUST because they can use him as an example of a conservative in music. On the flipside, I enjoy Alice Cooper, and don't give a damn about his morals as long as he plays his hits instead of discussing philosophy with me. Us crazy liberals supporting people who enjoy sex, debauchery and hating Jesus is nothing. The moral folks who hate us for it supporting people who enjoy the same is kinda...You know, sad. On a similar note, I could probably scrape up a list of liberal country musicians, but most of them would be desperate reaches...I wouldn't, because I don't feel the need to desperately prove the liberal ideals are alive in a field I generally dislike, though. You underestimate the power of the "fuck you" vote. We had an economic crisis in this country caused by one party's leadership, and when the other party failed to fix it in 2 years, we voted back the old party into Congress to spite them. And cutting off our nose SURE FELT GOOD. Don't get me wrong, I understand both the anger with the PMRC hearings and how silly it is to vote for a party that has a greater tendency to favoir censorship than the one you're angry with....Just saying.

Sam Raimi has made nothing of value outside of Army of Darkness and Xena. Drag Me To Hell. And Evil Dead II. And Bruce Campbell's career. He says he keeps his beliefs seperate from his music. Although there is what Norris said, so the little clip on tv I saw where he said that could be outdated. He keeps politics out of his music, not necessarily religion. There are religious references as far back as "Hey Stoopid". That said, the Jesus-y song is one out of twelve. Another song on the album opens with the line "You look like you'd fit in the trunk of my car". It's jarring, but not overly so and he never refers to Jesus by name, IIRC.

Yes, but you can make religious references and alagories in music without being a religious person. Heart-shaped Box for example although that's more in the video than the song itself.
