Ok for those who don't know back in November Fundies decided that a passage from Isaiah was a prophecy. Here's the video Here's the passage Ok so if I am getting this right, those said to be unclean (gays, menstrating women, anybody who is eating or selling fish or pork) can't travel on this highway. Also "fools shall not err" which seems to suggest that auto accidents should not happen. It' s now been over a year. So surely the fundy Gawd has done as they asked. Though thing they said seemed to have come true. One lady said there would be a sweeping change.. and a year later conservatives lost more seats and Obama won the election. Maybe there is a God.

I live near I-35. We've had gay marriage in Iowa, which I-35 runs through. How's that for change?

Shut up, it's Pat Fucking Robertson. Another "ex-gay", and more proof that extreme religion can be used as a drug.

I-35 is home to an adult film store that has "family parking" (they claim to have movies for all ages) and another adult film store that is literally some guy selling stuff out of a semi trailer.
I passed by both last weekend on the way to a RenFest in Waxahachie.

"Stabile felt God moving in him..."
More like the alcohol he'd been drinking.

These people are stupid.
Just another nail in the coffin that christianity is really about being an ass to everyone to get rewarded in death

I've driven on I-35 a lot too (also traveling to RenFests!) and one time the hand of God came down and smote me! I was driving 95mph and got pulled over by a cop and got a ticket! That'll teach me to be an atheist on God's Highway!
I have seen plenty of accidents on that road though. A couple of years ago a flash flood swept a whole family of God fearing Christians off I-35 in Kansas and killed 4 children. I wonder where that plays into this logic...

I travel on it quite often. There are nights where it's so deserted I'm able to stop at the side of the road and take a piss. I've pissed on the Holy Road. ;D

I've taken it from San Antonio to Austin to get blasted on coke, chronic, and Lone Star beer while eating pork and listening to death metal at Stubb's.

I'm an RR visitor... Ok so if I am getting this right, those said to be unclean (gays, menstrating women, anybody who is eating or selling fish or pork) can't travel on this highway. That definition of "unclean" does not apply to us. That was an OT definition for those who lived under the law. We do not live under the old laws, we live in the age of grace (and have since the resurrection). "Unclean" in this passage is referring to the unsaved. As for the Isaiah passage, it does not refer to highway I-35, LOL! All of Isaiah 35 is about the lands being restored after the second coming of Christ and the "highway" mentioned is for the redeemed to make their way to New Jerusalem (Zion). Even among believers "discernment" is critical because there are a lot of strange thoughts and translations being offered out there.

I call bullshit here. “For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:18-19 RSV) "Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest part or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place." (Matthew 5:17 NAB) Seems quite clear that Jesus himself has said not to ignore the Old Testament. If others wish to come and discuss this, be my guest.

Actually, Paul formerly Saul did ride completely roughshod over the words of Jesus Christ, alleged son of God and self proclaimed prophet. He was trying to convert non-Jews (again riding completely roughshod over the wishes and intent of Jesus Christ, alleged son of God and self proclaimed prophet) and reckoned it'd be easier if he told them they didn't have to stick with the Jewish traditions and laws IF they weren't circumcised... Basically telling the suckers what they wanted to hear, much like the rich man and the camel passing through the eye of a needle wasn't told to the rich man, but later to poor people, and the parable of the denarii, wasn't told to the people who'd devoted their lives to Christ, but to those that were coming in at the 23rd hour... [Edit:] Didn't you know the fundies whack off to Paul and his misogyny, rather than the message of Christ. [Edit:] Same thing with Paul in Corinthians II blowing the entire 'unequally yolked' argument out the water, again in the name of numbers... It's just backing off the hard sell.

Jesus said that EVERYONE was still subject to the Laws of Moses... Which means what you just spouted is calling Jesus a liar...

Who cares what the son of God (and/or God himself) said when you've got this dude named Paul.
