That definition of "unclean" does not apply to us. That was an OT definition for those who lived under the law. We do not live under the old laws, we live in the age of grace (and have since the resurrection). "Unclean" in this passage is referring to the unsaved. It's always amusing when Christians come up with reasons that parts of their Holy Book no longer apply to them just because they don't feel like following those parts. "No man ever believes that the Bible means what it says; he is always convinced that it says what he means." – George Bernard Shaw "Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest part or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place." (Matthew 5:17 NAB)

I'm an RR visitor... Ok so if I am getting this right, those said to be unclean (gays, menstrating women, anybody who is eating or selling fish or pork) can't travel on this highway. That definition of "unclean" does not apply to us. That was an OT definition for those who lived under the law. We do not live under the old laws, we live in the age of grace (and have since the resurrection). "Unclean" in this passage is referring to the unsaved. As for the Isaiah passage, it does not refer to highway I-35, LOL! All of Isaiah 35 is about the lands being restored after the second coming of Christ and the "highway" mentioned is for the redeemed to make their way to New Jerusalem (Zion). Even among believers "discernment" is critical because there are a lot of strange thoughts and translations being offered out there. Please please please read your own book. PLEASE!!! Genesis 17:19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him. So god doesn't mean what he says when he uses the ord "everlastingMatthew 5:18-19 Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or tittle shall nowise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. Luke 16:17 It is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail. That Jesus, he was such a kidder

Actually, Paul formerly Saul did ride completely roughshod over the words of Jesus Christ, alleged son of God and self proclaimed prophet. He was trying to convert non-Jews (again riding completely roughshod over the wishes and intent of Jesus Christ, alleged son of God and self proclaimed prophet) and reckoned it'd be easier if he told them they didn't have to stick with the Jewish traditions and laws IF they weren't circumcised... Basically telling the suckers what they wanted to hear, much like the rich man and the camel passing through the eye of a needle wasn't told to the rich man, but later to poor people, and the parable of the denarii, wasn't told to the people who'd devoted their lives to Christ, but to those that were coming in at the 23rd hour... [Edit:] Didn't you know the fundies whack off to Paul and his misogyny, rather than the message of Christ. [Edit:] Same thing with Paul in Corinthians II blowing the entire 'unequally yolked' argument out the water, again in the name of numbers... It's just backing off the hard sell. Oh right. Who cares what the son of God (and/or God himself) said when you've got this dude named Paul. Yeh, but Jesus said only Jews got to go to heaven, so without Paul, no Christianity, no Roman Catholic church, no American Evangelists, blah, blah, blah, but yeh... They lied to deify Jesus by vote 300 years later, but then they follow the teachings of other men, but still proclaim it to be the 'divine' message. More loopiness than a code block of: While 2ndcoming=false do: Wend

Wow,that gay guy's fiancé must have been devestated. Yeah, my first thought was, "And everyone just kind of forgets the fiance. How very loving."
