There's a huge difference between normal childhood/adolescent conflicts and repeated, non-stop harassment.
Being unable to completely eliminate something is a lousy excuse for not even attempting to reduce it.
Fighting bullying doesn't mean we have to impose Draconian policies. There are plenty of reasonable options.
Repeated, on-going harassment. In fact, why don't we just call it "harassment", since that's precisely what it is?
Harassment isn't free speech.
What, is being a dick somehow tied into masculinity? And since when is bullying only limited to males?

Damn fuck, that's, like, every bad argument against comprehensive anti-bullying policies ever, plus some worse ones (where the fuck did "are we expecting boys to be girls?" thing come from?). "I think for all us our experience in public schools is there have always been bullies Yeah. And it sucks. And you should try to get rid of it. always have been, always will be. Great. Then I take it you won't be at church next Sunday. Funny how the Church teaches us that we should strive to be nice to everyone, and to remove the bad parts of our personality and purge the darkness from our hearts. I just don't know how we're ever going to get to point of zero tolerance and what does it mean? It means that if someone is being bullied, the bullies are punished, you vapid cow. What will be our definition of bullying? Oh, you remind me of my stupid teachers. Bullying is when someone intentionally hurts someone else, either physically or mentally. In other words, SOMEONE BEING A DOUCHECANOE LIKE YOU. Will it get to the point where we are completely stifling free speech and expression? No, it won't get to that point. Because using your words or actions to hurt someone isn't covered by free speech. That's why I can't go to your house and paint "YOU ARE A HARPY" on your walls. Will we be expecting boys to be girls? Fuck you. Fuck you fuck you fuck you. I have only ever been bullied by girls. I've been bullied by some of the most feminine-looking girls, the ones only interested in shopping and boys. I've been bullied by girls who are studious and quiet-looking. I've been bullied by girls who dye their hair black and have piercings out the wazoo. Girls can be some of the most heartless, bitchiest creatures on the planet. Boys can bully, too, but don't you dare say that bullying is somehow masculine. It's not. The fact that you exist proves that girls can bully, and you are either blind or stupid to think otherwise. Fuck. You.

Ugh. This woman is absolutely horrifying..I..Ugh. Bullying is ridiculous. I wound up spending the majority of my time in highschool chasing bullies away from my friends. I generally got left alone due to size and my penchant for violence Bullies wont pick on someone who is a challenge. Only those who they KNOW they can overpower or berate without reprocussion. Thats exactly what she is doing. This woman really makes me ill...

I hate to speculate about another person's past misdeeds, but there's a part of me that can't help but wonder if Bachmann was one of those clique-y bitches in school who never really had to deal with ongoing bullying because she was part of the group dishing it out.

Considering her demeanor and appearance, I want to agree with you.

Either (1.) her social privilege has rendered her completely ignorant to the realities of bullying, (2.) she is of remarkably poor conscience, or (3.) some combination of both. In this case, the first option is by far the most "flattering."

Most of my bullies in grade school were boys however, in high school ALL of my bullies were girls.

Mine were about half-and-half. There was the idiot boy from the trailer park who constantly harassed me and the "slow girl" (she had special ed), the boy who made fun of my hearing aids, the sister of the idiot boy who literally spit in my face, a girl who kept breathing in my face...and that was just on the bus 1st and 2nd grade. Weird how it was the vagina-bearers who were willing to get up close and personal, including my mum, who was my only real bully from 3rd grade on up until last month.
Haven't really had to deal with bullies in college...maybe I'm lucky, or just ignorant of mocking behaviors (noticing subtle snideness isn't exactly my strong suit).

I had a male bully in my psychology class (in college) but my teacher defended me. Probably cause I was her favorite student, but I like to think she just didn't tolerate bullying.
I was bullied all through high school (even by the actual parents of the students in such a way that they tried to prevent me from going on band trips because I was queer [or at that time suspected of being queer]) but my bullies were male and female. My biggest nemesis was female.

What? What? That's just...what? How the fuck, in a supposedly civilized society, does someone in some position of authority (not sure what the MFC is, but I'm pretty sure I hate them) get away with such a heartless, thoughtless, bloodthirsty, insane, evil, nasty, ruthless, immoral, and outright *cruel* statement?
If there were justice to be found in this universe, people such as Tom Prichard would not exist.

I wish I could be shocked by that kind of thing, but after hearing the same crap from countless people, I don't even have the energy to facepalm anymore.

Last year a girl commited suicide because she was bullied relentlessly for being from Europe and having an accent. Should we blame her for being an immigrant Tom? Should we blame it on "immigration indoctrination?" What if someone is being bullied because they're fat? Should we blame them for leading an "unhealthy lifestyle?"

So... does he believe that when a gay kid is bullied, he is confronted by homosexual activists who tell him that if other kids are beating him up he's obviously not doing his job of indoctrinating them, so he'd better just off himself?
