Thomas Etheredge, the founder of the Wild West World theme park (often referred to as Six Flags Over Jesus) in Park City Kansas that was open for only two months, is finally in jail. The theme park received a lot of bad press because it allowed an ultra-conservative Baptist-break-off church led by uber-fundy Terry Fox to move into the park. When the park closed they laid people off without pay, and didn't refund ticket money to thousands of customers. The park owners and Fox spouted anti-gay messages all over town, and then they wondered why they had a poor attendance! They eventually blamed the park's closing on the weather. Etheredge has a criminal history of shady deals like this, and even served 4 years in prison in the '80's, but swore to investors that they could trust him now because he had "found God." Then he conned them out of millions of dollars for this failed theme park, most of which they will never see again. He was even taking their money when he was planning for bankruptcy! How Christian of him. Read all about it at the Wichita Eagle: www.kansas.com/business/updates/story/794157.html

Shit, two fails in one go (failed xian theme park and Fox getting locked up). Not bad! Nope, unfortunately it was Etheredge they put behind bars, not Fox. Although, if the feds are investigating one of them they're bound to discover the scams both of them tried to get away with. It wouldn't surprise me if Fox was indicted very soon. If that happens I'm going to laugh my ass off!

Nope, unfortunately it was Etheredge they put behind bars, not Fox. My bad. When the fundies start talking I tend to think about fishing till the noise stops. The results is I tend to miss a lot of what they. And when I read Fox, that reflex kicked in. Thanks for the correction.

If you're interested in this story this next article is awesome! Terry Fox has spoken out against Etheredge, and is now trying to distance himself from him. www.kansas.com/news/story/797387.htmlHow Christian of him to turn on his friend in times of trouble! He's complaining that Etheredge scammed him and how he lost his church's money (the money that Etheredge gave to the church as a tax writeoff so they could invest it in his theme park). Sounds to me like Terry Fox is trying to distance himself for fear that he'll be the next one in jail. How does a man of Christ have $50,000 of personal money sitting around? How can you create personal wealth like this being a pastor, earning money tax free from a church? Yup, this fundy is going to jail!

Typical conservative/religious move, when the heat's off, bitch and whine, do illegal shit to show your point. when the heat's on, jettison anything that might look bad
