This is what happens, folks, when a religion is founded just so its leader can have wealth and a harem. Mormons are incapable of not being fundamentalist, because the main tenets of their faith have been disproven by science, so any Mormon who wants to believe in that religion has to deny science and be an ultraconservative reactionary. Every religion is contrary to science, be it Mormonsim, Islam, Catholicism, Wicca, Buddhism or whatever the fuck else. Mormons are nothing special when it comes to superstitious nonsense.

Pastafarianism isn't contrary to science! It is supported by science! And what about scientology! It's almost got science in the name!

They should ask Mitt Romney and John Huntsman a question about this at the next Republican debate. Not because they are in any way responsible for it, I just want to see if the crowd would cheer.

Re: Jon Huntsman... Let me put it this way, the LGBT community in Utah liked him as he was progressive for a Republican. He's the least asshatty of the candidates I know the names of. He also believes in evolution and trusts the experts regarding climate change. He actually had a tweet saying "Call me crazy but..."
Seriously, he was called the sanest candidate at one of the Republican debates. Considering how many people view Mormons that's saying something.

Um, no Ironbite, nothing like that happened to me. I was just referring to the fact that there are hardly any non-crazy-fundamentalist Mormons out there. Even the ones who don't call themselves fundamentalist tend to be extremely conservative and fundie by this site's definition. And no one except Mormons denies that Joseph Smith only did it to get laid.

And no one except Mormons denies that Joseph Smith only did it to get laid. I don't think that's true. He may have also done it for the power. *nods to himself*
