If the kid were a real Star Wars geek, she'd know that Ewoks inhabit Endor, which is in a completely different galaxy, or rather they did a long time ago. I am very disappointed in her I must say. If you were a real Star Wars geek you'd know that many people would steal Ewoks and yes even Wookiees and drag them all over the galaxy for different zoos and the like as well as slavery. It does no harm for the girl to believe that Ewoks were brought to Earth. I don't see the truth crushing the child when they grow up.

Regardless of how it turns out, she'll definitely look back and wonder how she didn't see that it was an obvious Photoshop job, but that's neither here nor there. Arguably, this is an upside. It's a memory. And it was her father putting in effort to make her dream come "true", albeit on a superficial level. I was just joking.

I'm not a big friend of the lying-to-children thing. Sure she's ecstatic now, but wait until she figures it out, and is disappointed at both the lack of Ewoks and the fact that her Dad lied to her. Not to mention the ridicule she'll encounter from classmates if she tries to tell them. Parents tell their kids things that aren't true all the time. Like Santa, Yahweh, Tooth Fairy, Vishnu, Jesus, etc. This just happens to be something parents lie about much less frequently.

This is true. I meant to say all over the known universe.

This is true. I meant to say all over the known universe. Considering even hyperspace travel is too slow to make travelling outside of the galaxy completely infeasible, not to mention there aren't any hyperspace routes to allow it in the first place, I'm going to have to call bullshit on that.

It is possible to tell a story and not lying in doing so.

You had a very un-magical childhood, didn't you?

If you can make the Kessel run in 12 parsecs, intergalactic travel isn't a problem.

parsecs is a measure of distance, not speed.
Also, in Star Wars ANYTHING is possible.

parsecs is ARE a measure of distance, not speed. Thanks Captain Obvious. Tell Han though.

Actually making it out of the galaxy without being blown up would be a good start. ...why are we having this discussion? I don't know. All I said was it's not difficult to figure out that Ewoks don't exist. Especially not on contemporary Earth.
