I don't know if it's different in Skyrim, but in Morrowind the weakness to magicka could be useful as it increased the effect of beneficial magic, too.

I don't know, I haven't played as a High Elf in Skyrim.

I don't think they come with the weakness to magic anymore in Skyrim, they just get a big bump to their mana pools.
They're still arrogant pricks, though.

With any decent magicka regeneration equipment and of course the perks for half magicka usage in your choice of school there should be no problem casting whatever and whenever you want, making the size of the magicka pool mostly irrelevant. I play as a nord destro/resto mage (+ sniping archery since I made a mistake - learn archery from the very first trainer fast and put perks in it...). And AGAIN what self respecting modern RPG doesn't allow respeccing!?>?!?

Oblivion, Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas...I find that the respeccing phenomenon is mostly kept to MMOs. Could be wrong, though.

You can do that after the end of the tutorial usually. Just not whenever you darn well feel like.

Yeah...DDO allows you to respec feats, Sorcerer/Bard/Favored Soul spells, and enhancements, but its very restrictive, and gets more and more expensive the higher level ya get.
Also, I actually kinda enjoy playing games like Skyrim over from the beginning just to respec into a different role. I find it interesting how different styles of play affect your overall decision-making in a game.
Yes, I suffer from Altitis. My DDO account has 21 characters; I have at -least- 2 characters on every shard, many of them have 3.

I didn't say it has to be easy to respec. I am fine with quite the opposite. But let there be the option. Because while the new system is much more forgiving that the old leveling systems in the TES games, it is still very annoying to look at a perk that you thought is cool but turns out to not work how you thought it should.

Not sure if trolling or just fucking stupid. Basically its a petition to ban Skyrim (or rather SkyRim, developed by Blizzard, apparently) for the usual asinine reasons. The best part is the signatures themselves. Criminal S and GLaDO S and in particular made me lol.

Got Skyrim. Playing an Imperial with combat basics. Heavy Armor, one handed, blocking, some archery. Going basic until my next playthrough where I will go as a mage based character. Then a thief based one

Just beat the main quest. I feel unfulfilled.

So I rolled up a Rouge character for no real reason (Except she uses bows and two handed instead of bows and one handed). Anyway, I'm wandering along in the Reach when I see two Thalmor Justicars ahead. I drop into sneak and fire an arrow at the first one, hitting her in the back of the head, killing her instantly. Her mage companion spins round, sees me and throws up a ward whilst charging toward me readying a firebolt. My second arrow punches straight through his ward, hitting him in the eye. He drops.
