And that for some reason, "atheist" and "none" were considered separate. Because not having a religion and not having a god are two different things. One can have a god and not be religious (Some Deists), while another can be an atheist and have a religion (Buddhism comes to mind actually).

The survey is not nearly detailed enough for that to be relevant, Mechtaur. It's not like it asks people how they feel about "Atheist-Buddhists," "Hindu-Buddhists," & "Shinto-Buddhists."

Note to self: Bring a cross necklace to first-anythings.
It's sad that I'm semi-serious about it.

I don't particularly trust religious people so I suppose it all evens out (at least for me).

Even better, bring an upside-down cross. It shows that you're a Christian with a silly side.

Even down here down under it makes you a little nervous when you here religious people talk about atheists as being inherently untrustworthy. I once had a co worker say our prime Minister was inherently untrustworthy not because of any of her policies but because she was an atheist.
I don't particularly trust Julia either, but she seems to go out of her way to pander to the Christians on everything from Gay marriage to untrained school Chaplains brainwashing kids!

Bullshit! It has been my experience that if you see the phrase "Christian owed and operated" or some such wording in their advertising, you may as well bend over and get ready for a screwing. Some of the most untrustworthy businesses I've had to deal with advertised this way.

And some people might identify as atheists first and Buddhists second. I fail to see your point. My point is that the survey doesn't get specific enough for things like this to matter. It doesn't say things like "Is an atheist, but believes in spirits." It just leaves people to their own impressions about what the difference between "atheist" & "none" mean. The irony is that the Fundies would hate all of them. And there is some good reason to wonder about Freud, & ESPECIALLY Eddison.

Freud was just weird...Edison was a liar and a thief. Is there -one- thing that man invented on his own?
