What about the six-legged chair that doesn't fall over when you lean too far back?

Freud was just weird...Edison was a liar and a thief. Is there -one- thing that man invented on his own? Freud seems to be a lot like Aristotle--he didn't get anything right, but he started a significant movement. Trouble is, Fundies don't move past that first part.

And some people might identify as atheists first and Buddhists second. I fail to see your point. My point is that the survey doesn't get specific enough for things like this to matter. It doesn't say things like "Is an atheist, but believes in spirits." It just leaves people to their own impressions about what the difference between "atheist" & "none" mean. The irony is that the Fundies would hate all of them. And there is some good reason to wonder about Freud, & ESPECIALLY Eddison. I wasn't trying to say it was being specific, I was pointing out why being atheistic and being areligious are two different things. And, yeah, fundies would go absolutely nutty over either of them.

Which is true, but for the purposes of the survey, I think the distinction that exists in people's minds is more important than the distinction that actually exists. Speaking of the Greek philosophers, I've seen Fundies go apeshit over Aristotle & Democritus. Apparently, the latter is "stupid" because he "seriously thought atoms went together with hooks & barbs." They also said he didn't believe in souls, which is laughable, considering he's one of the few who's actually bothered to try & explain how a soul would even work in the natural world.

Aristotle was a smart guy with a lot of useful ideas that happened to be horribly inaccurate.

That's why I compare him to Freud.

It works decently enough, I think.

I love this cartoon, I didn't know they were such badasses. Together, they join forces and fight crime... or... something. That would be an incredible crossover show.
