The Cumberland County Animal Control Board is recommending that authorities limit the adoption of dog breeds that one county official described as attack animals, officials said.

The idea is only in the discussion stages but has already created an uproar among animal advocates, according to Dr. John Lauby, Animal Control director.

The board is suggesting that county residents be banned from adopting Rottweilers, American Staffordshire terriers, pit bulls, chow-chows, Presa Canarios or any mix of those breeds, Lauby said.

Seriously? Fucking SERIOUSLY? Yes, let's automatically kill off any of these breeds that come in because they're ALL attack animals. They'll ALL eat you alive!

I have met many dogs of many breeds and I can 100% attest that the breed doesn't dictate the dog's behavior. The owner does.

Don't worry, only 5 of the unadopted 1100 will be allowed to play with the bad people. You can play with the other 1095 puppies.

I can't mind meld with the fucking dog. Dogs are their own animals. They might display aggression for various reasons. That's why you have professional dog trainers. When a human kicks a dog, do we all cry "Kill him" before we've even figured out whether or not it was an accident?

Also, this is just all dogs that come into animal control. They don't have to have been actually hurting anyone.

I'm a cat owner, but the basic principles are the same. I can't just "control the cats," these are animals, not robots. And half of the time I can't even control my computer.
