What are some weird mannerisms that your pets do?
(Sorry if this is the wrong forum. General and Lounge are so similar that I'm not quite sure what the distinction is)
Just to start the thread off...
My cat and Mom's dog are both very weird. We have a food dish and we have water next to it in the kitchen. We keep the water clean and fresh every day. Yet they won't drink from it. They refuse to, in fact.
And it's not an issue of running water, because we used to have a pet fountain set up before, but they wouldn't drink from it, either.
The strange thing is, they'll go to the living room to drink water. From a bowl that Mom has set up on an end table because during the summer, her dog used to get overheated, potentially dehydrated, and that was the only place where she could get him to drink water.
Cue winter, and both animals are still drinking from it.
What the fuck.

My oldest cat snores, if that counts. And he grunts when you pet him.

My Shepherd whines when she's happy. When she's really happy, she yelps. She's quite a vocal doggy.

My cat Punkin is completely nuts. She makes a variety of bizarre squeaking sounds instead of the usual meows, will be purring comfortably while being petted one instant and suddenly go into Attack Mode, and will often dash around the house for no reason at all.

Sounds like a typical cat, randomguy.
My cat wheezes. Constantly. She's also the most vocal cat I've ever seen. Pet her? She meows. Don't pet her? She meows. Look at her? She meows. Don't look at her? She chirps and chatters until you look at her. Then she meows. Walk past her? Meow. Don't walk past her? Meow. Walk into the room? Meow. Walk into a room she's not in? Meow. She likes to inform you she is there. Even when you're already acknowledging her existence.

I once had a goldfish that would float, motionless, on its side, yet would swim away when touched. Yet the damn thing lived for about 3 years.
I also have a de-sexed white domestic short hair, who has weird creepy, zombie-cat sex with plush toys whenever he gets the chance.

my parents used to have an African Grey parrot. She'd do a lot of the usual mimicry of our voices, but she also said stuff that we would never say. "Feed Hugo" (Hugo was our cat) is one example -- that cat was so obsessed with food that he'd attack your leg and MAKE you feed him if he considered his food dish to be empty. Empty in this case means you can see any part of the bottom of the dish. There has never been a situation where anyone had to actually tell someone else to feed him.

My dog rubs his nose on me. Which sounds like a normal thing, except the way he does it.
He comes up, and rubs the very tip of his nose on my forearm. Then he sits and looks at me while I wipe it off. Then he does it again. It's like he knows it annoys me. And I'm the only one he does that to.

My cat Punkin . . . will often dash around the house for no reason at all. I'm pretty sure all cats do that. Mine will go running, and jump and try to climb up door frames. o.O Sometimes I'll just be walking around the house and he'll jump up and grab me around the leg.

My cat Mookitty loves to sit on my feet. He also has “conversations” with me. If he meows at me and I meow back, he’ll keep doing it until I stop meowing with him. On the other hand, my mom’s cat virtually never meows. Just about the only time she will meow is when she’s hungry, but she is kept well fed, so she hardly ever meows for food in the first place. (She will meow just once or twice when you’re getting it out for her, though.)
Oh, and our dog loves to lick people to the point I wonder if he has doggy OCD.

One time Mookitty really startled me when he sneaked up on me and started to do that, so I jerked my leg, and it literally kicked him. I feel bad for that. I didn’t mean to kick him. Jerking my leg was an automatic reflex.

Heh, my cat talks to me too; I'll say something to him and he'll meow back sometimes. The more you talk to them, the smarter they get.

Things that my dog does, that I consider weird: 1.He really likes to be petted most of the time, and if you stop, he'll start whining until you start petting him again. If you start making the whining noise back to him, he'll get pissed off and walk away. 2.He snores, makes other weird noises, and kicks in his sleep(and it really doesn't help that he's a total bed hog) 3.He likes to make a "nest" in the blankets when he about to go to sleep

My tortoise (A Sub-Saharan Spur Thigh) is about as fickle as it gets with contact. Sometimes, he is totally cool with touching and won't do much, other times just getting within five feet of him warrants him to completely withdraw.

Heh, my cat talks to me too; I'll say something to him and he'll meow back sometimes. The more you talk to them, the smarter they get. So do ours. We've had a spat of gay kitties, even once they were fixed. Two were ferals that were from one of our outdoor kitty's litter (well, ne was) so we had caught them and tamed them up. Unfortunately last year the Russian Grey got hit by a car and he was the tamer and younger of the two. Funny thing tho is that the other still acts like a Mommy-cat to the two younger cats. It's really sweet. Also, we have a cat that demands we feed her people food every time we open something for ourselves - if I have a bag of snappea crisps I've taken to throwing one into the other room and running the opposite direction to hide. She's one of the talkers. Especially if you gently tap that spot right where tail meets back, she opens her mouth like she's fish-breathing each time you tap and tips her head like she's trying to get at something. I dunno if it's cos' its hurting her (hopefully not) or if she's just..really weird like that.
