Hey, just thought I'd start a thread dedicated to theatre. I didn't see one already in existence, so I hope this is okay. I was just at KCACTF last week. www.kcactf.org/ Among the shows I saw were Doubt, Anatomy of Grey, and House of Several Stories. Has anyone seen these? (Besides House. It's not yet published.) I really enjoyed Doubt. Not only was the acting amazing, (I kept thinking I was in church) but the plot was good too. Afterward, we all had fun debating whether or not the priest was guilty. Anatomy of Grey was a good one, too. It was inspired by the hysteria that accompanied the AIDS epidemic. You know, only "fags and sinners" can get AIDS. Well, in this show, it's the Christians who are contracting a deadly, uncurable disease. It was very thought-provoking. Also, on a random tangent, our school is performing Godspell. I'm on wardrobe for this one because I don't sing well. Interestingly enough, someone was offended by it. I don't see how. Has anyone else seen any good plays recently?

I don't go to plays, but I sometimes play in the orchestra for them. I am currently working on "A Year with Frog and Toad" with the home school group. They actually do a pretty good job. The performances are this Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I'm a little pissed though because the one group I usually play with isn't using live musicians for the rest of the season. I did "Peter Pan" with them last fall. Don't know what next year's season is going to be like yet but if they're only doing a live orchestra for one show a year any more that sucks.

I don't get out to the theatre nearly as much as I should, the last play I saw was The Woman in Black which was over two years ago. Although at the moment I'm rehearsing for Back to the 80's, for which I not only need to learn to sing somehow but also I have to learn to do an American accent.
