Sarkozy said that Burqas have no place in France, and RR is cheering him on. While I am unsure on the issue, it seems RR can turn everything fail really easily.
MidnightCry-
Not only that -- I think they're creepy. The other day I was running a few errands with my kids . . . didn't cover a huge area, but saw 6 draped women walking or driving -- and I wasn't LOOKING for them (so, no doubt there were more). It gives me a creepy feeling -- I hope that doesn't sound racist -- it isn't that. I just know that they want me dead and . . . call me crazy, that bothers me.
Maybe she was in my town and saw my friend's mother and grandmother? They wear burqas because it's what they wore for years and it's what they're most comfortable in. They're both very nice people and definitely don't want anyone dead. So yes, MidnightCry, you do sound racist, and you shouldn't make assumptions based on what a person is wearing. Should I judge a lady in a muumuu because I wouldn't wear one? Should I judge someone in a Christian T-shirt because I wouldn't wear one? No.
Again, MidnightCry-
Wow. Sure would be nice if O would follow in his tracks.

Uhhh... no. You see, here in America, we allow people to wear what they choose (within reason- you can't go out in public with no pants on). If someone chooses to wear a burqa, that's their business. If someone chooses to wear a penguin suit, that's their business. If someone chooses to wear a muumuu, that's their business. A lady wearing a burqa doesn't affect you. No one is holding a gun at your head and saying, "I'm going to shoot you if you don't wear a burqa."
Now, I don't agree with anyone being forced to wear anything, but if someone wants to wear a burqa, more power to them. This isn't Afghanistan where a woman has to wear a burqa under law. I can wear a T-shirt, jeans, and flip-flops. X can wear a tux. Y can wear a party dress. And Z can wear a burqa, if she so chooses.
