ow.ly/fDYlThe AFA produced a one-hour video called "Silencing Christians", which documents the idiots who usually protest at gay pride parades. It's basically an hour-long bitchfest about the LGBT community not preaching "tolerance" because they don't let them protest and condemn. In any case, an NBC affiliate in Florida showed this video, in its entirety, on primetime television today. Why, I have no idea. Video is in the link. I can't watch it at all, the kind of "christian persecution" bullshit is too much.

Ugh, I managed to watch about 20 minutes of it. It's just the standard persecution drivel. I had to stop watching when they started talking about violence being used against Christians as a form of intimidation, and made zero mention of violence against LBGT community. Talking about how Christians in San Francisco are living in fear.

Ah, yes. More from the "Free Speech means no-one is allowed to disagree with me" file.
The complete absence of any type of self awareness here boggles the mind.

Did they also air a documentary by the Church of the Aryan Nations on the persecution and discrimination white supremacists face every day?

The whole, people dare to disagree with my views equates to persecution view has always confused me. As does, people get mad that I say hateful things, therefore I'm being persecuted.

I'm not even gonna look, i know my rage-o-meter would break from it. Same here, I don't need my rage going up so early on a Sunday afternoon, I just woke up. But yeah, this whole thing about how when Christians are unable to condemn people for what they are, and when the same Christians go on about how anytime their preaching either falls on deaf ears or is challenged in anyway, they run away screaming "persecution". It's getting a bit tiring now. I guess persecution to them is when they're no longer able to persecute everybody else.

From the fundie dictionary:
Persecution: (n) 1. The passage of laws which give other people equal rights to Christians. 2. Failure to give Christians special exemptions from the law. 3. The publicly acknowledged existence of people in the world who are not real true Christians.

Just the standad "By preventing us from persecuting gays, we are ourselves being persecuted" line of the fundie movement.
The fundies have never understood the difference betwee free speech and hate speech.

If you don't like gay's then don't go to gay day parades.
If I were to do the same thing inside a church, I'd probably go to jail too.

Do they really not know it's standard operating procedure when protesters show up without a permit, or on private property, or even out of a 'free speech cage', to get arrested? At least they weren't tear-gassed, shot with rubber bullets, or beaten with batons, as is common for the left side of the fence. No doubt those grannies cheered on the dirty hippies getting arrested for the equivalent back in the day. Welcome to political activism, enjoy your police record.

It's the standard fundie "I'm supposed to tolerate gay people but they won't tolerate me being intolerant of them!" persecution mantra.
I actually stopped watching about a minute and a half when that bitch from the Evolution vs. Creationism video started talking about "the homosexual agenda" myth.

It's interesting that when gay people want the same rights as everyone else, then according to the fundies they are asking for "special rights." But when the Christians demand the special right to persecute, hound, harass, and marginalize gays, then that's perfectly ok.

I fail to see how gays wanting the same rights as everyone else equates to "special rights".
