NPR suggested today that Coleman is pulling back to regroup and run for governor in 2010. After this little stunt? Not bloody fucking likely. Pawlenty is one of three people whose names are already being bandied about as possible GOP front-runners in 2012, so if Pawlenty does opt for a bid then he might step down in 2010.

He's burned through some good will, to be sure. But I don't think Republicans would jump ship so quickly just because of this incident. The Republicans, no, but it's the moderates you need to pander to. I'm not disagreeing with you. But I certainly don't think this puts an end to his political career. Politicians have a way of sticking around.

It's very likely. He only lost to Franken by a couple hundred votes. He wasn't blown out. On the other hand, nobody likes a sore loser.

And elections are over 5 years away for Franken's seat, a lot could happen.

Thank Dog it's finally over with and Norm Coleman emerged a looooooooooser. Not only did Franken oust a homophobic, pro-Iraq War corporate stooge who claimed marijuana was more deadly than cigarettes, but the Dems have a filibuster-proof majority. This means they have no fucking excuse not to pass everything they want, so keep and eye on the Democrats--stalling is no longer a fucking option.
