Actually, it looks like a failed attempt at prose. ** As for the heart of the article, I actually agree with him. Remember how the stimulus bills got ram-rodded through Congress? Remember all the crap that happened because no one in Congress read the damn things, let alone the average citizen? Remember how the whole AIG fiasco came about because Sen. Dodd slipped a rider in authorizing bonus payments and then spent a week denying that he ever did it? That's the kind of shit that happens when Congress moves too quickly to get things done. Health care reform is going to be every bit as epic in scope as those two stimulus bills. We, as a nation, seriously need to sit down, look at what the government is trying to push, and let our voices be heard yea or nay as the case may be. Hopefully, if the government actually takes its time, we can detect problems in the bill before they explode on us.

Which stimulus bill you talking about there Skyfire? Ironbite-Obama's strings attached one or Bush's Throw Money At The Problem one? Both. Bush's stimulus was a clusterfuck in the sense that they just lobbed money all over the place & no one in Congress stopped to actually read what the hell they were voting on before passing it. Obama's stimulus was a clusterfuck in the sense that he increased the pace at which money was being lobbed all over to such an extent that he may have actually made the economy worse by bottoming out the deficit, creating the kind of playing field where zombie firms can exist, and crowding out private ventures. And people wonder why I wanted Romney or Guiliani in the White House... They actually know how to handle money.

How about some reports that show this? Polls, charts, some manner of data, anything. I'm so fucking tired of you saying shit like this in a manner of absolute truth, and then not providing anything to back up your claim. We're not dittoheads, we're not going to take you at your word because you're a loud obnoxious Republican. Seriously.

During the debate over the passage of Obama's stimulus bill, even the Congressional Budget Office sounded alarms over the possibility that, if Obama's projections were off, the entire nation could have been buggered senseless by the excess government spending draining the coffers and blocking private initiatives. Also, I find myself asking if you even understand what a "zombie bank" happens to be. They were a key part in Japan's economy spending an entire decade stagnant, and when both stimulus bills came around there were fears that they'd set the stage for a repeat here in America.

Saying "may have" doesn't excuse your lack of citation. Put up or shut up.

... In this context that doesn't MEAN anything. Jees-US. You may have killed someone. I can say that, but I'd better have fucking evidence, hadn't I? FUCK OFF. I fucking POUNDED you on this topic when that report came out, because you, like the rest of your ilk were misrepresenting what was being presented. Here's the thread in fact! fstdt.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=pg&action=display&thread=548&page=3... Stupidest fucking criticism I've ever heard in my life. Congratulations. This is the exact same thing every single President has to consider. Every one. This point here, is merely bitching for the sake of bitching. Also? Maybe you should actually research what other countries national deficits are in comparison to the GDP. You may actually learn something. Of course I know what a Zombie bank is you tool. And considering that Goldman-Sachs and J.P. Morgan have paid off their financial aid, and Bank of America and Citigroup both posted better than expected profits just TODAY. Including Citigroup posting a profit when analysts were expecting a loss, I'd say that's not too big a concern.

See, I keep hearing you complaining that important things like building a health insurance system that works, and yanking the US from recession, cannot be done because they're too expensive. But I can't remember you complaining about the Bush presidency's massive deficit expenditures in Iraq, Afghanistan and tax-cut land, which added up to 2 or so trillion dollars. So Sky, answer me this. Do you care more about dealing with an relatively minor problem that can be solved at your leasure over the course of a few decades, right now; at the expense of the economy and society, or do you not? In short, do you support the war on terra, or do you support the stimulus packages and health insurance reform?

Skyfire,
Once again your ability to delude yourself and interpret whatever you may be discussing in a way that only benefits your beliefs and outlooks is breathtaking. You have managed to time and again divorce reality from facts when it comes to this issue. Jumping up and down, pointing your fingers at everyone that isn't one of your heroes, and yelling very loudly, "It's all their fault!" does not change a damned thing. We are in the current financial state we are in because of corporate greed and shady dealings that was aided and abetted by eight years of Republican rule.
While the current stimulus plans but forth by Obama should be debated, they are not going to send us into a dark age of finical ruin. Also, while we are on this topic, the current state of the economy is NOT Obama's fault. I would like to meet the man that can crash the world economy in only six months. I want this man as my friend, he will come in handy when us furries launch our bid to take over the world.
In closing, once again the textual pile up that is your posting in this thread once again astounds in its ability to be so far removed from reality that it most likely doesn't even wave hello to it when they pass on the street. This is the same stuff you've been hammered on before as well. So, either get some new material or get some legitimate sources that back this tripe up. However, this is all a moot point as you will flee this thread as your situation is fast becoming untenable and thus you will fall back on your aforementioned tactic.
