They count up until the day the Rapture happens.
I'll laugh when they realize they've kept it going for a decade and still nothing has happened.

No, I mean they start with "day 1" then "day 2." They keep going until the Rapture happens.

Ah! You see!? That's why the rapture has yet to happen! Every one knows that you count down to something, counting up will only delay them.

No, I mean they start with "day 1" then "day 2." They keep going until the Rapture happens. When did they start with day #1? I mean, 'cause technically they should have started when Jesus got taken by god into heaven right? 2009 x 365 = 733285 - are they on day 733,285?

Someone should tell these people that a watched pot never boils. In this case they forgot to turn on the stove.

2009 x 365 = 733285 - are they on day 733,285? Technically it would be 2009 x 365.25, so they would be on 733,787.25, a difference of 502.25 days or ~1.376 years. [/caresatallaboutdetails] That's pretty amusing, I wonder how high they'll go before they say "ah, fuck it" or just forget about the thread. Wonder if it will go into the next generation of RR-goers.

But he wasn't crucified in year 0!
Your formula should be 1976x365.25

Someone should tell these people that a watched pot never boils. "A watched Savior never Raptures." Y'know, even though I'm a Christian who doesn't believe in the Rapture, and generally considers end-times stuff to be bunk, I always thought that part of the point of the obfuscatory nature of the prophecies was "it'll happen when God's ready. Period. Don't push him." Kind of like asking Dad on a long road trip "Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" just aggravates him.

Well, now, if you're going to be pedantic... Our current best guess for the date of the crucifixion is apparently April 3, 33 on the Gregorian calendar. So it should be 365.2425*(2009-33)+(208-93), making it day 721,834.

Snaps his fingers, points to his sig. I'm so stealing that. I saw that thread back when I lurked around RR. I just chuckled.
